1-Maryville no one else close.

2-DB, SHHS, Farragut, Bradley Central & McMinn County. Bearden??  Any given night any of these teams could beat the other. DB would have at lease 3 L's with Science Hill schedule.

Bold Prediction. Bearden beats Farragut this week and Science Hill beat DB and Bearden to win the conference and be the 1 seed for the playoffs. The tough schedule for the HILL pays off the last 2 games and playoffs. The youngsters that were inexperienced early in the season have grown up. If we limit the mistakes we may be playing Maryville in round 3. Take nothing for granted this year until you get to Maryville anyone can win.

NE TN Ranking

1-Crockett

2-Betsy

3-Greeneville

4-DB & SHHS

5-TN High

DB has the kids to beat up on many teams and hang with many ... They obviously have the depth because several sophs are stepping up during the injuries of 5 starters ... The injuries are a concern but even with , they are still easily handling teams and stopping the run and playing great D .

With DB having many starters as Juniors and from what I have heard winning championships (together when they were youth " - trying to find this info ) they have the talent and heart to WIN .. The coaching staff is off the chain this year because of all the  hires they made in the off season (one of the best Corridnators / coach out of VA , couple of great past DB/ college players and a great AD to go along with them ... I see them possibly beating or playing a very close game with Alcoa and then getting into 3rd round were they will fight Maryville ... Next year could be a fantastic year for DB and I think DB is building (one of the best)  Coaching Staffs in TN currently !

Greeneville does not want that Series. Devils are a solid program and very good program. But, are not close to the same Caliber of Athletes as Oakland "Year in and Out". Last year Greeneville team had a chance to make it respectable for sure, but consistently it would be hard for Greeneville. Keep beating SH and DB then travel down to Maryvillle to play the Mighty Red Rebels after that to head on down to Bradley for a good High Scoring game series with tons of points.

Then you make your way to Oakland after you have mastered the big boys in the East ... Key word Consistently.

DB is having a great year for second year coach. This is how DB should be viewed year in and out. However, Region 1 6A is really down this year. Also, we will get a better understanding of them when they travel down to Alcoa in the final week. That being said. Best of luck to the Indians because if they make it pass BC it will be 35-0 at half-time when they play Maryville.  Great Season for 2nd year coach, but DB will finish 11-2. Now like I said in other post. I hope I am wrong. But, a spade is a spade.

DB will surprise you no matter who they play .. If DB stays healthy and gets some players back , then DB will play Maryville very closely  - Deffrence between now and past DB , they play 4 qtrs and get better as the game goes on - no matter who they have played , DB has litterly stopped the run and are stepping up and shutting down passes as the season comes along - Just wait !!!!

Not saying they will win but they will shock and will fight hard with anyone they play ! They are Young , small , a big heart and a Killer instinct to WIN

DB has played mostly teams with losing records, but still they deserve credit for remaining unbeaten, and they will easily win the rest of their games until Alcoa in the last game of the regular season.     And it is too early to start that thread, but I'm not sure even Alcoa can beat DB this year.    Even the mediocre teams they have played, they are completely blowing them up on both sides of the ball.       DB may not be really tested until round 3 when they meet Maryville.   But let's just see how the rest of the season plays out....

A lot of discussion about DB's schedule being weak this year and that being the reason they are currently undefeated. Seems DB is held to a different standard and to a point rightly so. But DB isn't the only team that has a weak schedule this year. Actually Oakland the number 1 team in 6A hasn't played a team with a winning record yet. Not trying to compare DB to Oakland other than saying you can't take anything away from either team because their opponents are having down years.

Greeneville and Elizabethton have not played anybody that good either (with the exception of Powell).    When you play a weak schedule it really makes it difficult to benchmark your team.    But you have to say this for DB, most everyone who knows anything about football would have had them 5-5 this year, so regardless of schedule strength it is still impressive to be undefeated.

Until Oakland are beaten you have to ride that wave. The way they dominated last year, and they have an even better offense this year.

I had DB winning 2 or 3 games this year. Debusk and Christian did a heck of a job getting the right coaches in place. This is maybe the best staff over all that DB has ever had. We'll see how they finish out but it's hard not to be excited about the future.
