Hope you didn’t put money on it. DB’s QB isn’t very good. RB is good but overrated. Really, DB as a whole is overrated nearly every year. The Norte Dame of high school football, except ND does have a trophy since forward pass had become popular

Tonight I suppose you could say SH was the better team, but in no way is DB out of it, they still have a very fine team.

I feel bad knowing my teams last Championship was 1987. At least we also played for it in the 1990s. Have you all ever actually played for a title? Real question

Need to do your homework like I saidImage result for Greeneville football History.................................Real answer

I am Maryville Bozo , I just happen to like my DB fellers because my Coach , Ted Wilson , went on to be an Indian .... btw , congrats on not losing tonight ... I'm sure that Bye Week gave you all you could handle .

Check my post Bozo, I call it like it is. We suck balls and will for the foreseeable future. No talent + no coaching = no playoffs. DB, on the other hand, always has these lofty expectations

so you're behind them win or win , right ? I'm surprised DB lost but geez it was a monsoon out there tonight ... a lot of teams looked sloppy tonight , including Maryville . You take up for the band , but totally destroy your football team for losing a game in a monsoon to go 8-1 ... amazing .

Dang straight. 33 had no idea what he was complaining about. The band had no choice.

The team blew it.  They should never have lost this game. Echos of old teams and coaching. Call it like it is.

I think they had the screen pass wide open twice, once he over threw and once it was right in the hands and dropped. Both would of went for TD's. I thought for sure they would of went to it on that last drive. I guess they forgot. If I were this coaching staff I think I would spend next spring working with the defensive backs and teaching the players the rules of the game. Nothing else, just those two things. Maybe hand out videos showing what holding, off sides and personal fouls are. They could watch the videos over and over all summer long. I think that's what its going to take. I'm being sarcastic of course.

A ridiculous number of penalties, some key drops, and inconsistency on defense. Add them all up and I'm surprised it was that close. I bet the D had at least 15 TFLs, but then they'd turn around and give up a big play. Don't see them beating Alcoa but they could still make some noise in the playoffs if they play well.

Yes a ridiculous number of penalties. But nobody can be surprised at this point. They'll have a ridiculous number of penalties next week and the week after that. Science Hill got 14 points last night that was the direct result of penalties. The rest was totally on the defensive backfield. It just amazes me that after all these years (30+) we can't figure out how to defend the pass. At this point I'd just put all the defensive backs on the line and have an all out blitz on every play. DB held Science Hill to 11 yards rushing last night and still lost. I don't think I've ever heard of that before. Don't even mention Alcoa or the playoffs.

Yeah unfortunately the "your offense can't be one dimensional" rule doesn't always apply. Especially if you keep helping the other team out with stupid penalties.

I personally think D-B can play as good as they want or can still be caught off guard. Without seeing that game my guess is the weather could of interfered some just as it did in most of the other games. Still a good season so far and they will have to play their best all year to beat Alcoa next week.

I have probably done this too at some point, but I am still always amazed when we mention the weather being a factor in a game.... as if it only rains on one team and not the other.

    • Yes. I have seen that cause problems. In my last coaching stop, if a coach resigned they got them into another building. Sometimes the very next day. Welcome.
    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
