How in the world has heritage lost another game? I can't understand is it the coaches or the team or a combination of both. This is getting ridiculous they haven't won a Friday night game since September 15 or 2017 WTF!!!!!!!! Can anybody help explain what's going on in the foothills of blount co. I thought coach hammondtree was supposed to be one of the better coaches in the area definitely not showing up it the wins & loss column.

All of their good players are at Maryville or Alcoa.

LOL at a Greenback fan responding to the post. Other than the Jett kid who are the other former Heritage kids that are playing at Maryville? Serious question because I don't know.

Lol I have no clue to be honest. That's the only explanation that I can come up with. I remember back in the 80s when I played for Southside, Townsend, Walland and Porter were always very good. Half those kids wound up at Maryville just assumed it was still the same way.

It's the most convenient excuse since it has been past down from one generation to the other. The biggest thing in regards to Maryville are a lot of former players from Heritage have had kids that have played for Maryville over the years. Alcoa for the most part with tuition a third of what Maryville's has more Heritage kids but who can blame them. There are a million reasons why Heritage isn't any good in football but the biggest one is a lot of the boy's going there are working to support the car they drive and football plays second to that. Sad as it may be if you moved Heritage all the way down to 1A they would still turn in a losing record.

I think the biggest thing was Blount County School system shutting down Eagleton Middle School Football in the late 80s.  Heritage never recovered.  Back in the 80s Heritage was very competitive.  Back in the 80s I saw a lot of those big farm boys on the field. My senior year alone they had Wes Moore,Phil McGill and the late Tim Deacons.  All those guys were 280lbs or more.  They were monsters.

REBELRON your 100% right about the Eagleton mess. That was Heritage's feeder program and it was either not play football for two years or pay and go to Alcoa Middle and the trail was cut from that poor decision on the County's behalf.  I used to live behind the football field at Eagleton and it was a hard look across the fence my house bordered not seeing football for many years. When they decided to play again the damage was done and Heritage has payed for it dearly ever since.

So you just trot that out there with zero proof? Gotcha! You do realize that your starting QB is a Heritage kid? How ironic your comment is with all the transfers that Greenback has.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
