Meigs will run away with district and region and it won't be close. I'm not so sure Central will finish second.  Lots of key losses from last year. I'm afraid this year could be humbling.  If politics can be swept aside at Sequoyah and I know  they will not they could be a factor.  But in the end Meigs will dominate this year and next.

Central’s 3 seniors scored 90% of the points last year, and that’s not a exaggeration, I believe I saw in one game against Meigs they scored every point but 2. That’s hard to replace

I agree, those seniors will be missed.  I just have been with this group since they were in the 2nd grade.  I feel they will find there way.  I agree, it will be interesting to how they adjust.

It's  going to be very hard. Honestly, Central's best player very well could be an eighth grader at Englewood but that's not gonna help this year.

I know who your talking about and she will be very good. They will have a good 8th grade class coming in that should be pretty good. The Baker Girl will be pretty good to.

Meigs has 7 girls that have been offered or are being looked at to play a the next level. They should make it to the glass house this year. It will be harder to make it next year, because of losing some key players. The will have 5 really good seniors next year but the bench will be really thin.

5 really good seniors + our district + our region = sub state at the least.

Yes, she can play!  That is why I say the future is bright for this young Chargerette team.  I still feel, even though they are young, they can see success.

Lots of good discussion that I agree with.  The 8th grader at Englewood is a good player and will dominate in the county this year. She's strong, has size, and has played on a very good AAU team in Knoxville. The youngest Baker girl (7th grader?) at Englewood may end up being the best of all the Baker girls, and that's saying a lot, assuming she takes a growing spell. Mountain View will have a good young team since they got a 6th grader to transfer there from Polk County this year.
One of the biggest things that would help Central would be to have a Middle School team, comprised of girls from Englewood, Mountain View, and girls wanting to play on it from Etowah City school. Playing on their school team as it is now gives more girls opportunities to play, but at some point you should start separating the better ones and have them playing together before they get in high school.  Playing a Middle School schedule against teams from other counties is far more competitive than playing teams just in your county.

The main thing is to win the Region this year and host Sectionals where you have a chance to advance to state. Being a runner up and having to play at Macon County (most likely) in Sectionals will put an end to any of our Region team's year.
Meigs Middle has some good 8th graders, so that thin bench should be remedied next year.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
    • Grandma from Heaven looking down at the field to see if that gulley washer rain this past weekend sent to make a dent on that paint that some are claiming washes off of turf. Nope looks like Krylon Tough Coat.
    • I was just talking to a guy the other night about the basketball impact.
    • Who would want that job?  Can win just no chance of winning at a high level.
