That means you would have AC, Fulton, Gibbs in a region together. If Seymour, and carter drop down you could bring in Union County and have a knoxville area region.

I would think Alcoa would elect to move up to 4A if this happens. Alcoa wanted to last reclassification, but Carter,Gibbs,Fulton bolted to 5A after Alcoa made the announcement to move up to 4A. With only Union co. remaining in that district,  Alcoa decided to remain in 3A due to travel.

Alcoa could be in it also

Fact!, it is known that Mr Wright found out early that Alcoa was moving up to 4A last reclassification, and the next day the black birds are up and running to 5A!

I guess , I would too, if my team had only won one game in thirty years against Alcoa! Several of Fulton's best 4A Championship teams had losses to Alcoa those seasons. Would love nothing more to replace Punching bag Scott Co. with Punching bag Fulton!:thumb:

I wonder if they will make all 8 of Rutherford County 6a teams their own Region?

This at least would give Warren County, Coffee County, and Cookeville a break!

Only reason they have the split the way it is now is to give Metro Nashville more games with a decent away crowd coming in to boost their gates.

Putting the Rutherford County schools together and the Williamson County schools together would make too much sense........therefore it will not happen.

RuCo:  Oakland, Riverdale, Smyrna, LaVergne, Stewart's Creek, Blackman, Siegel, Rockvale

WilCo:  Brentwood, Ravenwood, Franklin, Centennial, Indy, Summit & Nolensville (if they move up)

Speaking of RuCo: Who is going to get the Siegel job?

Here's the thing with bunching the RuCo schools together: Where are you going to put CC, WC and Cookeville? There are kind of in no man's land. The only scenario in which putting together RuCo and WilCo that makes sense is if we go to 5 classes

Valid Point.  If I remember correctly, at one time TSSAA had Cookeville traveling down 111 through Sequatchie Valley to get to Ooltewah, Bradley County, Soddy Daisy, Cleveland for region games.  ALso Cumberland County before Stone Memorial came along.  I don't see that scenario happening again.  If they put Cookeville, Warren County and Coffee County together, I can see White County jumping back into region play.

Let them play 3A, 4A, 5A... it wouldn’t make a lot of difference.

Hey get facts straight bro ... Fulton moved to keep from traveling to Chatt like AC .. think what u want  ... and the 2 best of Fultons 6 state champs were 2013 and 2014  .. and that's the 2 years that Rankin decided he didnt want a 2nd loss on his resume and refused to renew contract with Fulton .. after seeing those boys in 2011 as freshman beat down his fresh 30 - 6  .. Alcoa has great teams and handled Fulton all those years but one at Alcoa when Cobb and Rogan played.. but those 2 years in 2013 and 2014 Rankin didnt want any .

The original 4a was suppose to be Gibbs Fulton carter Seymour Anderson county union county. Alcoa said they wanted to join that region to make it 7. They made the announcement the day before to see the reaction. The next day they all decided to go to 5A. That ultimately made Anderson county go into Chattanooga and union to upper East Tennessee.

Imagine 3 Public Classes, 16 Districts with the top 2 in from each.  High stakes, high drama, big games every round... there is a reason attendance is terrible in this system.  Nobody likes to watch a blowout against a terrible 4 seed in typically terrible weather.  Then factor in the potential for 50+ quality bowl games for the teams left out, and you can see where T$$AA could make up the revenue by sanctioning the bowls.  People would go watch them as well because that 6, 7, and maybe 8 win team will have something meaningful to play for against another solid opponent.

LITERALLY 2/3 of public schools get into the playoffs right now, no matter what... It is pathetic to watch these blowouts in the first 2 rounds...T$$AA is hurting the game.  There are less than 300 public high schools that play football... We don't need more than 3, maximum 4 classes in this state.

Average margin of victory in 5A Round 1 was 24 points and 6A Round 1 was 27 points!!!

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
