Putting the wraps on Beech’s 11-1 season:  In a long list of great coaching performances for Coach Crabtree and his staff, this season may rank at the top. Beech was extremely young on both sides of the ball, which really showed up on the offensive line. They started 1 senior on the O line against Shelbyville. The rest were underclassmen, including 1 freshman. They lose one running back, but all three RB’s that were in the game on the opening scoring drive will be back. The qb will be back along with all the receivers. On defense they return their entire D line along with a freshman MLB who will be a superstar before he graduates. He was responsible for 2 of Shelbyville’s three fumbles. They will have to replace all but 1 cornerback in the secondary. Hats off to the Bucs for another fun year. Looking forward to next year.

Thanks for the info.  I'll log that into the memory bank for our preseason show next year.

very young team that i think may have overachieved a little bit this year. the way they were able to win games without necessarily playing great or being the better team, really shows how much heart they have and how much crabtree can get out of his kids. this team is gonna be scary good next year.

enjoy re-runs of jeopardy or high school basketball this friday night.

You truly have nothing better to do that take shots at programs that are historically more successful. Yes, I know Dyer County is playing Friday... we can both watch from afar after this week.

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
