Rhea Co. @ Powell Round 2

Tall tall task for the Eagles this week with a road trip to Powell. It will be interesting to see if Rhea can control the ball and keep it out of The Powell offense’s hands. Powell’s defense is no slouch either. Line play will be key. If Rhea controls the line of scrimmage it may keep this one close. Rhea’s defense is coming off of a dominating performance against Fulton. It’s going to take the same effort and then some to keep this one close. Looking forward to making the trip up Friday.

This should be a hard fought game and big test for Powell.  I predict Rhea County keeps it close for 3 quarters, but Powell makes some big plays late in the game to break it open in the 4th. 

 

Powell by 14-17.

Historically Rhea County has been a tough game for Powell, and especially in the playoffs.   I expect a very physical game from start to finish from both sides.

Not easy to prepare for that type of offense in a week! If Rhea County can sustain some drives it could get interesting.

This is what I’m thinking. How quickly Powell can make adjustments will be big.

Powell's front 7 should give them a big advantage in this game, as long as they stay disciplined. Should be an entertaining game.

The hardest part about preparing for a Rhea County style offense is that a scout team just can't simulate it at game speed.

That’s why I’m figuring how quickly Powell can adjust will play a big factor. If they can make the necessary adjustments early enough, I think they’ll be okay.

I hope this is the case, but I’m not quite buying it yet. It’ll be a tough game
