Whitehaven, Houston play Friday It's time for Lincoln Pare and Houston's prolific offense to take on Bryson Eason and Whitehaven's dominating defense. The Mustangs have scored 44 or more eight times. The Tigers have posted seven shutouts. Last year, Whitehaven eliminated Houston with a 31-27 road victory. MUS is last local team standing in DII-AAA MUS held on for a 35-28 win over Knoxville Catholic after jumping out to a 28-7 first-half lead. The Owls advance to take on MBA, which beat MUS 14-7 on Sept. 20. Briarcrest lost 35-33 to Ensworth despite four touchdowns from Mr. Football semifinalist Jabari Small. Wooddale, Covington set for Class 3A showdown Wooddale and Covington each won their second-round games by less than a touchdown. Covington appeared in the last two Class 3A state title games, falling to Alcoa both times. Wooddale lost in last year's first round. Fairley knocks out Union City Fairley rolled to a 34-6 second-round win over Union City — the team that eliminated the Bulldogs in the second round this year.
