Agreed... he never hit the big one. Biggest run that he had was when he scooped up the punt and made a great run. I personally though Meigs didn’t use his arm near enough

We throw when we need too, I'd like to see it more myself , but it keeps teams on their toes when we do because there's not alot of video of it. I myself think when we are healthy, and we are... we are as good throwing as we are running. Makes us hard to defend.

After the first half I thought whomever scores first wins. But both teams mad adjustments and that was a great game. I told the Meigs kids congrats now go beat Peabody and of of Meigs lineman said we will beat Peabody for TC. I hope you’ll get that gold ball. Looking at Meigs is like seeing a mirror image of TC a small town where football is life and we’re you all about pounding that ball and playing defense. Swafford was just to much this year and he has hit that weight room like crazy since last year. Congrats Yeti you’ll enjoy this experience next Saturday I will be pulling for Meigs next Saturday.

Thanks man. It's my first trip as a fan. Will savor it for sure.

This one should be one of the better games in the state. Probably will not get as much coverage as it should. The “ coacht” Will do more coverage , but it will be a battle of a game. Much respect for Megis but Trousdale finds a way to win late! Tradition and expectations with No Choice always finds ways to win! TC!

Not tonight baby!! Tradition don’t always win out. As Turu said earlier in the week, Greater Decatur is where teams’ dreams go to die.

Great game by both teams. Rankins and #2 are special players but Swafford just proved to be too much!!

MUCH respect for TC

This effort talk is crazy. And RTD are we sure they were the better team? Yea they made 1 more play but from what i saw and heard it looked like 2 evenly matched teams and I would guess if we replayed this game 10 times it would be 5-5.
Meigs go surf the Tide to the Gold!

I agree with you both teams were evenly matched. Tonight Meigs was better squad.

Great experience you will love it the only downside is all the breaks in the game because of commercial timeouts.

Rankiins will be back next year. Swafford has a great arm. Meigs should throw a lot more the kid always seems to keep his cool in the pocket. He never seems to be flustered he deserves that Mr. Football again. Congratulations.

wow looks like me and my partner chose the wrong game. I told him Alcoa had it in the bag but he just had to go see their facilities. Congrats to Meigs.

Bud He seems to be dodging questions. Either he was a Houdini/ Barry Sanders type player or the Waterboy.

The Goat sez: I bet RTD was on the jr high team, just for a minute maybe

Mancoverage sez: I think RTD may be a RB from those full stables of the late 90’s teams.

I'm interested in hearing about Peabody from the Trousdale fans who went to the state championship game last year. I've heard they have a few excellent players but I don't know much else about them.

Peabody QB is a really good player and has a very good arm with down the field passes. Peabody has a big line like Meigs. I don't know if #7 for Peabody graduated last year or not but the kid has speed and great hands.

Speed on the edge could be the nemesis for Meigs. It's hard to simulate in practice when you don't have similar speed for your defenders to practice against.
Is Peabody a disciplined team that is coached well? What weaknesses did you see in their offense and defense?

Another good defensive team, offensively I would say look in the mirror with a touch more speed and they have a stud player too in Jarell Dickson, and the storyline is Swafford a Navy Commit meets Dickson a Army commit

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
