How is it other teams are playing home and this is not an issue for them. Grass fields require proper maintenance and then are able to stand up to weekly play. I know grass fields all over metro and other counties that are still playable. Varsity football, JV football,  and freshman games. Soccer and even middle schools use some fields plus band and still playable.  So where is game being played?. It appears that nothing is ever done to their field.  It does require some work .

Stuff happens. Just like ravenwood had to play on the road for a few weeks because of their field conditions. Player safety is number one in most peoples eyes. We are one of those schools who have both feeder middle schools and little league"thurs, fri &sat" who play on our field and it's always held up until this pass rain.

Well, Covington has a very good field. However during last year’s playoffs ( all played at home) it got chewed up pretty well. By the time we played Stratford in the semi-finals it was terrible. It had big mud holes and was generally nasty.

Exactly!!!

Fields this time of year, no matter how good they are, take a beating if you are at home fir two or three weeks in a row. Our field at Springfield is probably one of the best around since this is only our third season playing on it, but having hosted the first three rounds and having rain every week it’s pretty chewed up. I know PC’s field is probably in the same shape, because if I’m not mistaken they’ve hosted the first three rounds too.  @FBfan26 knows how good our field is from seeing it in the spring. It will make it a better game for you guys playing on a better field. We really don’t have that option since there’s not really a place to move to. We are also 20-2 at our new place so we don’t won’t to lose that mojo.  Good luck to your boys @FBfan26 and @FIREBIRD80. Maybe we both can get gold balls this year.

    • I used to think like that many many moons ago.  I wondered the same questions but learned that it is just not that easy.  Hiring assistant coaches can be complicated at times.  It takes a few years for HC’s to get who they feel is right for their system.  Couple that with good assistant coaches getting better jobs at times and leaving your program. More to it than some think.  I think you have a good coach up there and time will tell that story.
    • okay.  Like i said initially, it's question we have to ask, but we sure don't know the answer yet.
    • You’re right, I shouldn’t jump the gun on it. Hopefully it isn’t related to the sports programs, because it’ll end up affecting a lot of innocent kids who just enjoy playing sports.
    • I totally agree but just don’t want to see people jumping the gun by insinuating it was for athletic reasons. Nobody knows at the moment except for those involved in the incident itself and those investigating.
    • Bruh, That portion of the post was simply a product of my imagination. Try to keep up.  The real purpose of the post was to rub salt in this fresh wound following FF’s departure to BGA.
