Well dang HC fans, what happened? I was hoping to have a rematch with y’all in a couple of weeks. I saw the score last night and I was surprised to say the least. Was DC that good or did y’all just have a bad game? I sure was pulling for you guys!

We were up 24-7 and got caught playing safty football. And they caught fire.  Our Defense got run down and dog tired. DC brought it.. with all the upsets  5A is anyone's guess. I picked Powell and shelbyville for state and that's ship has sunk. If DC wins next week they can be a problem for whoever. Their hungry and down to scrap I'll tell you that.

Year over Year, 5A is easily the most unpredictable classification in the state

Sanchez Aldridge has really stepped up for HC and he should be back. Honorable mentions Louis Hudson .. and Aiden Harrod.. will be Jrs. I was waiting on someone to mention Paul D Atkins. He was a work horse.

That's good. Way better than maryville and Oakland going to state like every year.. Gallatin perked my interest early in the year.  They had me concerned.  And BOOM they ran into summits wood chipper.

I agree. It makes the playoffs more exciting when they are a bunch of really good programs, but no juggernaut

I am surprised that Dante Davis  is listed as a departure considering how little they used him. He #7 and #17 rarely saw the field even though they were 3 of the top 6 athletes on the team, The players ‘that lined up better in practice were exposed against Dyer county. I expected it to happen in the coming weeks, but it happened earlier than I thought. These decisions were made 15 weeks ago and no reflection until now. Hopefully there has been a reflection.

All due credit to DC, but It was a full blown collapse by HC. Kids simply didn’t want it bad enough in the 2nd half. DC did. Hopefully the underclassmen learned something from it.

Was hoping for a rematch myself. In fact, at one point last night while we were still up big I peeped the score of yall’s game and it almost felt like fate was setting us up for a rematch, but then Dyer County had other plans.

Good luck to the Bobcats next week.

As for our 2020 prospects, I’m not even sure what all we have back next year. I know we have some key departures along with some key returnees, but idk about the meat of the roster, particularly the O-line. I know the D-line was senior heavy.

I like our QB, receivers, and tight end. Also have a really solid RB returning in Jamarcus Johnson, but will need to find some depth there, especially if Z. Kendall is leaving. And I know some key pieces on D are returning.

All in all it will probably be another good HC team, but I don’t know enough to say whether it can be great.

Jayln Foster was far and away the best running back on the team. To me best in the state. I'm bias of course.  We played him to get up ahead against DC then took him out I think to try to save him for next week. What I'm getting down to is Dante Davis#27 .. what I have seen and what I've heard from teammates. He was strong and could drag a pile no doubt.  He ran hard and pretty straight.  Jayln would be more patient and wait for a hole to develop cut, twist , break tackles.  Guys on the team I've talked to said dante was more like a bowling ball. Full of power but just took the ball and tried to run hard but not really waiting that half second to let the hole open up. I know if Jalyn had not been plagued with a hamstring injury he could have broken any rushing records.  That young man was something special. Hes got heart.

    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.
    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
