Schools recruit themselves at this point. If i’m a kid in Blount County i want to play for Maryville or Alcoa. If i’m a kid in Williamson I want to play for Ravenwood or Brentwood/Independence. If i’m in Rutherford I want to play for Oakland or Blackman.  Parents will move their kids so they have better opportunities. Now, some counties do have more relaxed/easier ways to switch schools and some schools find ways to get players that might be considered “sketchy”.

I don't love the song but i have learned to appreciate willie nelson more as a singer.   And they have probably played it since we lost last in 2014 to Maryville.

Normally I would agree with this, but not this year. This team was one of the exceptions with #44 and #3 being 2 of the best players on the field every Friday -if not the best. When you put that with the program and above avg coaching, I’m not sure there was much doubt about them this yr. Yeah, the zebras might get you one game or you could turn it over a handful of times and lose, but barring those situations this team was the favorite. With that said, they stayed out of trouble, avoided big season ending injuries, and accomplished their goal. Congrats to those guys-well deserved.

One of your bet posts so far. Appreciate the shout out to 1975 Walland state champions. Wish Lanier could have gotten one before they created WB. Had a shot in 70s and their best team was probably in the 60s before the playoff system.  Had the states leading scorer for two years and other talented guys including a guy that had a cup of coffee in the NFL if Im not mistaken
