oridgecat
Yeah I agree., that's what I said 16 left out of the 36 that played freshmen. I wonder why the other 20 guys packed it in? I would think an undefeated freshmen team would have a few more guys continue to play football. But if they all come back, 16 seniors ain't bad. And I agree, there's only 1 Murvil machine. The accountability in the weight training is just one of the things that sets them apart from the rest. One of the things hurting football today is the fact that few of the children today want to work that hard for ANYTHING. Think about it. We as parents have spoiled the s.....ah.....tuff out of them. Today they are given cars, $1,000.00 phones, expensive clothes (even if they look worn out) and just about anything else you can think of. Some of us still remember having to bail hay in the summer for $.03-05 a bail. NOT ROLLS, 60 pound bails! I know I quit that when I found out I could make $100.00 a night driving a tanker hauling 'shine'. Even if they are working at MacDonald's they are making more a night than most kids did in my youth did in a WEEK! Looking forward to y'alls year in 2020. Heck, I am just looking forward to 2020. CardinalGrey
You speak the truth, brother. Years of wisdom and observation have immeasurable value. Way too many kids who expect things to be done for them, versus when we had to work to have far less. Looking forward to the 2020 season. CardinalGrey
That freshman team had great chemistry, but was destined to be broken up when players who didnt want to ride the bench as sophomores and juniors sat out. We tend to let some play JV, while others stand on the sideline through varsity games, but very few if any get on the varsity field. As in the past season, we may see some players return who were not on the team. I think it's funny that a Freshman team has "ZERO" value when Varsity is discussed...but a middle school team can have incredible value when discussing Varsity play. Bad logic.

I actually think an undefeated RMS or JMS team has zero value to the varsity, aside from a good athlete or two. Let's face it, RMS was undefeated because they had two great middle school players. That doesn't mean they'll be great varsity players, but I sure hope they will be. A great athlete or two in middle school or on a freshman team can bring about an undefeated season but not on the varsity level. I didn't see a lot at RMS to go along with the two athletes that carried the load,.

bounder
Thanks guys but the shirts are gone . The players wanted to wear them to school and one teacher thought they were offensive, and the wearers were made to change shirts. We told them they couldn't wear them to school but kids are kids. We can't do something that's gonna get a kid in trouble. Plus they were expensive! haha. Heck I can't even say Wildcat Whoop #### on the T! See? It had a GOOD run though!
