Hampshire is looking good. They have won a few games by large margins against Lewis Co. Perry Co. etc. Richland has lost some close games to Wayne Co. and Collinwood. Culleoka is around the .500 mark. Santa Fe is winless. Mt. Pleasant has 1 win.

I think Richland and Hampshire are 1 and 2. Culleoka is pushing upward and adding talented 8th graders next week. Santa Fe losing transfers hurts them. Mt. Pleasant is still searching.

Thoughts?

Very weak district. Richland runs the table.

Wish this district had more competitive balance so they could be more competitive in region and substate. It's been a long time since a team from this district went to state. I believe it was Cornersville almost 10 years ago.

Hampshire handles Waterloo (AL). Santa Fe beats East Robertson. Culleoka falls to Houston County. Mount Pleasant falls to Collinwood. Richland/McEwen postponed.

District play around the corner. Any opinions?

Think it will come down to Richland and Hampshire, with Richland being the favorite.  Not sure about Culleoka or Santa Fe, according to scores on here, both have had some decent wins and really bad losses. We will know for sure in a few weeks.

Unfortunately... I don't think it will happen under the current TSSAA layout. Occasionally you will have a good team here and there, but besides maybe Richland & Mt. Pleasant you won't have a competitive balance that will compete year end and year out outside the district. The Maury County schools are to small to compete on a yearly basis. Especially when some of their talent transfers to Columbia Central, Columbia Academy, etc each year.

2018 TSSAA Enrollment Numbers (  )

Region/Sub-state Schools:

Loretto (531), Summertown (486), Union City (454),  McKenzie (376), Houston Co. (417), East Robertson(404),

Other Competitive Middle TN Single A teams:

Eagleville (403),  Fayetteville(350)

District 10A Schools:

Richland (370), Mt. Pleasant (401), Culleoka (284), Santa Fe (192), & Hampshire (114)

Hard for teams with a 284 or less student pool to compete every year with schools pulling from 531-400.

That's why basketball needs more classifications as does football.

    • The issue here is not reporting an incident between teammates from what I have heard so it’s not shocking DCS is involved to some degree. The allegation was serious. Many people close to the program question whether the alleged incident actually took place.
    • Yeah, you might be right. We will see what happens. Should be interesting.
    • None taken ever. I just gotta believe that AC started the fire on this. Small towns talk clinton is a small town. They may have not been the official one to put ink to paper but I am sure they are the ones moving the pieces here.
    • No offense intended,  but I will take the word of an actual administrator in that system on that question.
    • My guess is, this has absolutely nothing to do with athletics. I could be completely wrong. Just going to let this play out over the next few days/weeks before throwing accusations around. Funny how when OR benefits from “transfers” it is because of the incredible school system and never for athletics because most people can’t afford the “tuition”! Going to be interesting to say the least.    And if AC is turning anybody in, shame on them. They have benefited and work the system more than most over the years.
