So your at 12 now? State only has 4 teams right?

The state quarterfinals are actually played at school sites. Only the semifinals and finals are at Lipscomb. In division two there is a real prize if you stay out of losers bracket games. Once you get to Nashville it is still bracketed. There is no redraw like there is in the D1 tournament when they hit Murfreesboro. In D2 the bracket rotates a little bit every year as well to keep matchups fresh

You have a bracket?

I agree D2 is a little strange, but it get easier to decipher because every sport (except football) uses the same exact State XII bracket. Region tournaments each determine seeds 1 thru 4, then they are placed in a standard bracket. Each of the 1 seeds gets a bye to state quarters and one of the 2 seeds gets a bye as well. This rotates on a 3 year schedule and East #2 gets it this year. They also have a few exceptions that prevent teams from having to travel 400 miles to play a game (for example USJ baseball played CAK in State XII last year at Middle #1 which was Friendship Christian). One other caveat is for baseball and softball, first round of State XII is single game, but State Quarters are best of 3.

Taking this week for example, each team that won on Tuesday is guaranteed at least 3 more games including a State XII or State Quarters game. Adding a little more confusion, each of the 3 regions determines its own plan to find seeds 1-4. Middle always plays districts then region. West has one big region tourney.

Whos left?

Whats the chances for TCA and USJ?

Know TCA plays at USJ at 4:00 today and Goodpasture is at CPA today at 4:00. Don’t get me to lying on how they determine the brackets and times. Know Carrol Academy is tough in Middle TN as well as is The King’s Academy in East TN. Harding and Tipton Rose play soon too. I think there are 12 left. Don’t know 100% if they are do or die games either.

Not do or die. Region basically sets up seeding for substate.  All four teams advance.  TCA vs USJ for round three of rivalry at 4 pm and then Harding and TRA at 7 pm.  Boys play between and afterwards.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
