Many families have parents who went to MJ and want to follow their parents.

It’s my understanding from a parent of a rising Sr that the rising Sr’s get to choose to stay at current school or go to new zoned school. Everyone else will go to new zoned school. So then if no football is to be played for Green Hills next season, but we are supposedly forced to lose our guys zoned to Green Hills, then what happens... they just don’t play football? If I remember right that has happened to some other schools in the past because they opened in between reclassification and the already set 2 year contracts. So they played a JV schedule instead of a varsity one. No chance for playoffs but they still played games. I remember Blackman High doing that. Maybe Nolensville did too?

JV is what they will play this season. It has a lot to do with rising Sr’s staying. Plus the fact that they are opening during year two of the two year cycle. Plenty of JV games will get scheduled. When Station Camp opened almost 20 years ago, they had to do the same thing. It’s not uncommon. I will be interested to see if they get classified as 4, 5 or 6A for the 21’ season from their enrollment numbers this fall.
workinprogress
It is possible Green Hill could have varsity games and they are currently trying to schedule some. There is an announcement on the tssaa bulletin board. This is typically what happens when new schools open. As far as players being forced to do something that is a bit of a stretch. As of next year the current freshman and sophomore class zoned for GH are no longer your players. They are GH players. And some may actually want to go to the new school. Some could move addresses to stay at MJ. It's all part of growth. Any news on the coaching staff yet?
