Bradley Central have you no class?

After 17 years on CoachT I have mellowed a lot and rarely comment much anymore but if this score is correct (100-14) I’m sorry but there is no place for this in high school athletics. Hey Coach what did you teach your players in his game?  Why would you humiliate another team/children like this?  I don’t want to hear any excuses because there are none.  There is no defense for this kind of stuff and no place for it. But hey Coach if you can sleep at night I can.

You do know that the bench players played almost the entire second half right?  That the press ended...

I get that no one wants to see a team destroyed but this IS a contest. The object of the game is to stop the other team and score more points than they do.  Marion County was unable to do either... Why should the Bearettes be penalized for competing at a high level? (Each player from starter #1 to the last kid on the bench). I do agree that the margin was ridiculous BUT what do you do?

This weeks earlier games produced similar results, lots of bench players saw lots of minutes this week.  I’m not bashing the other teams by any means but play the cards you are dealt. Work to get better. This isn’t Upward and we aren’t playing for a juice box after the game.

I’ve coached and been around coaching for a long time. There are several things you can do as a coach that will allow your players to compete and run their offense and them still be able to score points.  No way no how you can tell me that this happened in this game. I guarantee you layups we’re still taken and 3s were still shot. I already know so don’t even go there. I’ll be rooting for the team that puts this coach out of the tournament.

I got you dad, no it’s not upward ball it’s high school girls basketball. No one is taking enemy fire or having to duck because we have incoming, I get that. It’s 14-18 year old girls playing.  Do you get that playa?  I’m sure Marion County will be just fine but I’ve got zero respect for a coach that would allow his players to do that in a game. I’ve been in the same situations and I never allowed that.

It takes a lot of class to come on here & talk about a game you weren’t at & people you don’t know.
That’s what great classy people do for sure!

I’ve been around high school athletics for 40 years and coached high school, middle school and AAU so I know what I’m talking about. I’m talking about one individual and it’s not a players it’s a coach.

I guess it makes you classy to totally disrespect the girls from Marion County?  Pat yourself on the back a little more.

If someone had a problem with the way you coached in your 40 years, would you have more respect for them if they picked up the phone & called you, or if they got on the internet & blasted you?
How much respect would you have for that person?

How much class does that show?

Well If  I allowed that to happen to a bunch of children I’d be expecting some criticism and rightfully so. I got my fair share of criticism no doubt and some I deserved. But I never got it for running up a score on kids thats for sure.
