It's not Maryville in 2020. I doubt those boys win a game...right @Starsandbars

on a serious note....replacing 16 starters and a small upcoming senior class. That is typically not a good recipe for a very successful season.

ML our littull, uneggspeariunced fellers weal bee luckee two winn a scrimmich agin thamselfs .....Gonna bee a longurr yeer.....

Define "Top 10". My definition is - the 10 teams that have the best shot at going all the way.

So please, just leave Dobyns Bennett out.  There is a zero chance that they will make the finals, much less win it.

My top ten would be teams expected to win their region and or make the quarterfinals.

D-B needs to skip all the way over Maryville and play some teams on the other side of the bracket. They aren't that far from the rest of the state. Maryville/Oakland are the problem in the east. Schedule a Region 5-8 team in 6A.

Maryville is 1 until someone beats them. They have 1 tough game during the season and other than that will win every game by multiple TDs until semis.

West side of the bracket has been out sored 121-28 in the championship game the last three years and some of the 28 was against 2s and 3s, so will not put much stock in those teams against Rebs or Ruth Co.

Right now I would say

Maryville

Oakland

Blaze

Mt Juliet

Riverdale

Ravenwood

Houston

WH

Brentwood

DB Indians

    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
