You can go to several other state tournaments and watch a first class event but when you go to the Cow Palace you see just how cheap and second rate the TSSAA is in its present form.

I remember a D1 coach went and brokered the deal for the Ag center to hold the championships.  Seems to me they were presented a deal and agreed to it versus making the deal on their own.  This looks like a self inflicted injury by the teams and not the TSSAA.

Yes, pretty sure it was the head coach of Brentwood at the time that made the deal and TSSAA gets to have the place for free with the AG Center only getting the parking fee’s. The TSSAA sucks, they are pretty much like the NCAA and do not care about the athletes themselves but more so the bottom line of making themselves money. The state tourney for now could easily be on less mats and still get done within the timeframe of Thurs-Sat. There is a ton of down time wasted just like there was when it was at UTC. I would actually travel again if it was done at somewhere on MTSU property or at Bridgestone(little harder as they have to schedule around the Preds). But where it is now is a joke, been a few times there and won’t go back, but TSSAA isn’t going to change because they got the place for free and are pocketing the entire gate fee. It’s a bad joke to read on track and see all the places the other state tourneys are being held such and such coliseum or Arena and ours states Ag Center.  But this is a dead horse and they aren’t going to go back from 3 divisions or away from Ag center because; money money money.
