In all the years I have been on this board I have never heard a 'credible' rumor as to Maryville and recruiting.  Folks make them all the time, but when it comes down to it they have no proof that it was done.

As to Rankin, I have seen it up close and personal at R'dale when he was there.  Helps when the school Superintendent and the head of the T$$AA cover ones butt also.

If your friend wants to REALLY know, look up the threads about Rankin at Riverdale prior to 2005.  While my son started all 4 years at R'dale it is NO SECRET I am NOT a Rankin fan.  Respect his coaching ability, but not how he gets 'some' of his players and how he treats them.

I have had three sons play for Rankin since 2007. I never saw any of the false charges you place here. Rankin is a old school hard nosed man and so many parents and kids are soft and cannot handle it.

Nothing against you, but that sounds like Rankin recruiting with the exception HE does not feed the steak.  NOTHING comes out of his pocket.  That is what a wealthy booster is for......and apartments......a job for Dad or Mom...........

End of the Senior season, then its sorry kid, you are own your own!

NCAA clearing house, whats that?

Grades?  Don't worry about them during the season.........I'll talk to your teacher..........

What do you mean your hurt?  Talk to the trainer.......he will give you a shot to make it feel better........

Rankin has a coaching tree with a bunch of branches.  I wonder if any of his former coaches will get on here and verify your claims?

know a lot of his ex-players and a lot of them coach now, not ever heard a negative story about any of that, now I am not saying lost old dad is wrong or calling him out. I have friends that played for the man during Riverdale years and never heard any negativity. Again let me say I am not saying Lost old dad is wrong or spreading rumors, just answering a question on the subject.

So you let your son play for him for 4 years, but now he is the worst thing for football and the players - why didn’t you pull your son back then? Did you not see it while he was there or did you not know how to get out of the situation? Just curious

Not that I know of, but if any did I would say it would probably be a DE or a WR....may even be another QB since the one supposedly transferring in will be a year ahead of the current one, never can tell what is in the works....

      He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons

      A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.

      Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
