TSSAA needs to give shared titles to teams

If I didnt earn a trophy I would Not want one. I would Be disappointed if I did Not get a chance to earn one for sure. But it is just another lesson that these kids will have to face later in life. Life is not going to reward them just for the sake of being  involved. Don’t get me wrong I hate It for not being played out. And I feel The coaches should try to push a system to get it played out. But you don’t hand out trophies.

Let’s just play to earn a Gold Ball. It ain’t the same if they give 12 gold balls this year.

Lots of teams that are setting at home and been at home a while now. Call it what you want but they need to be recognized and not forgotten. Still alive. How would you feel if they cancelled the championship game last Saturday? Y’all would want some closure too.

Nolensville and Westview have not lost to a class AA team this season

Greenfield has to share it with 2 teams it beat. They are undefeated and have barely been challenged.

Clarkrange lost 3 games to AA Macon and @ AAA Stone Memorial. 

Whitehaven has to share with a team it beat.

Macon and Greenfield should be awarded the championship since they have the best record and have been ranked #1 practically all year. But I can see the argument that someone else is better. 

What are they going to do let each school display the Gold ball for 3 months and pass it on the the next for 3 months?

Boys is worse as there are 24 teams left playing. 

 

Sharing with a team you beat would definitely suck. 

Macon Co would probably meet Westview in the championship which would make for a really good game.

Greenfield vs Clarkrange in the semis would have been great as well. Not a guaranteed win for Greenfield. 

Whitehaven hasn’t beat any team still remaining in the AAA in the state tournament. They were actually beat by Arlington in November. 

Giving teams a trophy based on their rankings would be terrible also. At that point, we would be giving more power to the sports writers than they already have. Seeing the rankings all year long, it’s apparent most of them do not follow what is actually going on and rank teams based on what they did last year or what they hear from others with limited information. I’m sure it is a hard job but if you spend adequate time doing this it can be done and be done fairly accurately. 

Best case scenario would be to find a way to play once things settle down.

Looks like all TN will be a ghost town with every thing shutting down. Will be an act of the good Lord not saying it won’t happen if this remains postponed.

It is what it is. GC will be the reigning champs and still the defending champs and will get to enjoy the 2019 State Championship for another year and I can say we didn’t go out losers.

I would Be very disappointed. That’s the competitiveness in me. Heck look at some of my post. But I also Know that I have To take the emotion out sometimes to teach my 3 sons what life will be so that they don’t get blindsided. I know You are disappointed because your niece plays for GC. And I understand. But do you think when she is older and kids of her own she will break out the state championship ring and tell them how awesome it was that they were given the state championship along with 4 other teams were state champs. No she won’t. She will be teaching her kids those life lessons. Just my thoughts and opinion. And I know Most people don’t agree. But that is kind of why society is the was it is now. I am Sorry your niece won’t get a chance to COMPETE to WIN a state championship.
