TSSAA needs to give shared titles to teams

No I dont Think so. If you are throwing shade at the mishap of not touching first base you are way off. That young man is friends with my middle son and the kid is actually helping coach middle school baseball. He took it in stride. He was hurt but learned a lesson and is passing it on to the younger kids. So see sometimes the tough things are for the best in the long run. So that kid to me is more of a champion than just sitting and saying he should have been one.

Most of you guys are missing the point. The title of this thread has the word "give" in it. A lot of rhetoric has been thrown around about other sports being watered down, and comparing that to this situation, which is wrong. The value in a championship, is that you beat everyone else to earn it, period. Not that the record book has your name in it, or that you got a trophy or a ring... the value of being the best is beating the rest. If TSSAA does away with all classes next season, and only two make it to the final game, neither would be happy if they said the championship game was off, and only two will get a gold ball... likewise, if they go to ten classes and play it out, all the champions will celebrate that they were the last team standing.

Not throwing shade at him. I could have done that myself. Just an honest mistake. I was referring to a good baseball team that was close and have a great basketball team to have a game cancelled after you guys were heavy favorites would have been tough. Kid is using it as an example that you must pay attention to detail is a good thing. The way I see it Gibson County’s 2019 title lives on another year because we didn’t get knocked out. So I am proud of my neice for her not going out a loser and the title lives another year.

But again that is wanting to hang on to something. We have moved on from the runner up in baseball. Just like GC should have moved on from last years win. Again I would Not want a trophy if it was not earned.

Amen Trader.  At the PGA Players championship that was suspended after 1st round the Leader shot a 63.  The purse was split equally and he got 53k.  Guess what?  All the guys who shot 76, etc got 53k as well.  They were real happy!  The leader was ticked!  This is Socialism at its best!  Giving all 4 teams a Gold ball is another example of Socialism.  I think they need to play it out.  Play at a different location and test(if available) all players and family members that would attend.  Keep the crowd low and let those girls go at it and compete!  Let all of us watch it on NFHS network and enjoy some great basketball.

Best idea I've heard yet. It's hard to imagine the hollow feeling that those kids must be dealing with... lot's of talk about working "all year" toward the goal, but in reality, most of the kids have worked for the chance that was taken from them for a decade.

I agree. I think It should be played out. And hope it does. I just Have been responding to the fact that the title is GIVE. I think It is a joke. Figure out a way and let the girls play. But maybe some fans want it given because they were not even gonna make it to the title game period.

They are not going to play it out. That is the whole point. You think I won’t to end a family member’s  career without finishing it. State Tournament is what we live for. Let us win it or lose it!!  We don’t won’t this!!

It’s over let it go. No gold or silver ball for anyone this year. Folks there are lots more important things out there. I think that there are more adults butt hurt by the tourney not finishing than the actual players.
