This thread is only about Greenfield and Gibson County, just some selfish people that would rather put their children's life at risk over a stupid trophy, it would be sad for someone from those two areas to catch Covid 19 and pass away because they where selfish and wanted to play a game to just make a point, you all are sad indeviduals and really should be a shamed of yourselves for thinking this way.

I think your wrong. My faith in God allows me to go about my life and not live in fear. I have faith the good Lord has guardian angels around me and my family and church family!! Lots of verses in the Bible with the “do not fear” verbage.

You obviously didn’t read my post!  I’m not a Greenfield or GC fan although I would pull for them if they made it to the finals because they are from West Tn.  Go back and read my post. These girls want to play and if there’s a way to get proper testing done ahead of time and only allow family to attend then this could work itself out.  Everyone is concerned about health and safety but if proper precautions are in place it might work out.  There’s nothing selfish about wanting kids to be able to play for their dreams.  Yes, you have to be sensible but we also don’t need to overlook potential options as well.

And to that you can add... the CDC issued a statement earlier today stating that similar actions (school closures, gathering bans... particularly in the early stages) had no effect in restricting the spread. Keep in mind that their statement didn't rely on predictions, but a study of communities who have already implemented these measures without success.

But now the CDC has issued a statement that recommends AGAINST gatherings of people 50 or more.  It sucks for the kids....but it's a GAME.  There's more important things in life than a darn GAME.  And just FYI...I have worked in HS athletics for over 35 years...I "get it".  But I also understand the bigger picture.

Great life lesson to be taught. You cant take away the hard work the kids put in to put themselves in to able to go to state. Each school can honor those teams with a state finalist banner that will forever be hung in the gym. Many people woke up today without a job...there is more to life than playing for championships. Majority of the Seniors in Tennessee high schools will never play for any type of championship, but every SR may lose their graduation, lose Prom, Senior trip etc.

if the games aren’t finished. Schools and fans spent a ton of money to get there with hotels, food, gas, lost vacation days, etc....tens of thousands of dollars lost that is against tight budgets not to mention ruining senior years for this. NCAA is stepping to the plate and granting extra years of eligibility to some of these sports. These HS kids deserve something and closure since the TSSAA is liable for the losses incurred. It is time for the TSSAA to step up to the plate.

Were you really serious with this post?  :popcorneater:

There is a former sports reporter in Jackson who is advocating that they decide the state champions based on who is ranked number one in the final AP polls. Of course, the school that he teaches at is ranked number one. He wouldn't have the same philosophy if the same said team was ranked number three

Won’t happen. 12 teams left.
