Kind of shocking that this happened but I understand that he wanted to be closer to his family in Middle Tennessee. We are proud of the way he has rebuilt our program back to being competitive and competing for district and region titles year after year. Thank you Coach Mac for a fun five years.  It will be interesting to see who applies for the job. McKenzie is a great school system and a great town to live in.

Not sure if he resigned or was forced out. Great guy and teacher from what I hear just not a basketball guy.

Former Lady Rebel standout Anna Trull is the clear cut favorite not sure if she has passed the teaching requirements needed. That was an issue at West Carroll her previous employer

He wasn't forced out. He put a long facebook post/explanation on why he left. Very great person and Coach (he knows what he is talking about), but he isn't stern and is too nice with players. He doesn't do a very good job of disciplining or pushing them in practice. Our teams were never fit and were out of shape. Its takes a lot of motivation to get 15 to 18 year old girls to buy into what you are saying and he just didn't have it. He will have to get tougher to become a better coach.

Anna Trull was very disappointed when they gave the job to Lance instead of her. Many people were puzzled why they gave the job to a guy that was from 3 hours away instead of the best basketball player to ever come out of McKenzie.  She has moved to Clarksville this year and now leads a children's ministry there. She would be the right fit but I doubt she moves back to McKenzie after being in Clarksville for a short time. She is tough, knows how to win, and everyone in McKenzie respects her. Would be a stretch but I am all for her being hired.

Did she coach West Carrol a few years ago? They had some serious talent the year Bradford knocked them out. Where did that coach go? You have to have discipline. One thing about GC’s Coach you don’t have to worry about. They make a sloppy play or don’t box out or give it there all they are running or doing push ups. If they don’t pay attention to detail in practice they won’t in the game either.

She hadn't passed the required state tests to be a teacher/coach last I heard.

Yes she did for 2 years. She taught  2nd grade at McKenzie elementary until last school year. She now lives in Clarksville to be closer to her brothers family.
