Some of these students already have plans at this point where they can't play anymore. It was time to move on.

Agree with this. Believe too many people are trying to hold on. It sucks for everyone involved but extending the season into the summer is taking away from vacations, travel ball and like you said kids who have moved on. Coaches will battle having to field a team when players choose to play in Battle of Clovers Summer Classic in Sunbright, Tennessee over playing in district game because it's a "showcase".

Tough luck for Sequatchie with limited regular season games played (1 for them) and no postseason. Brought back 8/9 starters  this year, had 3 seniors with all 3 signed to jucos in the state. Senior pitcher struck out nearly 350 last year inc. 18 vs Alcoa at the state. 2B would have been a 4 year starter and batted well each season she took the field.  Also 3B commit to Jackson State.

4 others have committed, JR, SS-OF to UT-Chattanooga commit, hit .575 last year in 10th with 69 runs, 25 doubles, 11 triples and stole 55 bases without being caught. JR P-OF is a Bryan commit and will be the primary pitcher next year. Soph OF hit .505, 38 RBI, 37 stolen bases, UT-Chattanooga commit. Soph OF, a Bryan commit hit well last summer and fall and started the season well in scrimmages and only game.

On top of that, brought back a C-SS-OF, drove in 57 runs last year in 10th and threw out runners at a .450 rate. A sophomore OF-C-DH hit among the best  in any class at the state last year as a freshman and was ready for a great sophomore season. Both of these can play later if they want, as can others on the roster.

Sequatchie will be among the best in the state in AA next year but others have to continue working to step in for graduations, the same as each team in every year.

Who do you think would have been Sequatchie's biggest obstacles on the way to Murfreesboro, and how do you think it would have played out in AA?

Sweetwater would have been tough, and will be again next year. If both they and Sequatchie won their regions they would have avoided each other. Chattanooga AA district has gone down since East Hamilton moved to AAA, but Meigs has always been tough even before Rogers came in and pitched. Marion, though getting shut out twice at the state, has ability and teams like DeKalb in the 8AA group are always solid especially on defense. I'd say Sequatchie host Meigs, Sweetwater host Marion in sectional.

At the state, who knows-if they even got there since nothing is a guarantee, but I'd have expected Sequatchie to be right there near the end with teams like Lexington and Forrest. Not being able to have a chance to go this year will be motivation for next year with a lot coming back again.
