Not much to talk about now. Just wanted to share with everyone. Work is well underway. When finished it will be something all Bulldawg supporters can be proud of.

Absolutely they are. But whenever it is sunny and dry they are working. And somethings are done that they can do even when the ground is wet. For example they have the concrete pad poured for the visitor side of the stadium. So if it is muddy they still can work on the stands because the concrete pad is there. They have the old field removed and flattened so when the stands are done they can lay the turf. Should be drier by then.

The only thing that could top the stadium renovations would be if they tore the Chow Wagon down and built a Golden Corral in its place. We would know where to find Big Purple if ever in town.

What you know about chow wagon Barn?  But for what it’s worth, I would rather have chow wagon.

I know you can park at the football field and walk over to the Chow Wagon and get full then go to the ballgame after. We used to have a place called Chow Hound in Maryville before the owner got greedy and put payoff Poker machines in the back and got shut down.

That’s a Milan tradition. Chow wagon is a Milan staple and has excellent food if you are into the old dairy bar type fair. But yes young and old alike have been going to chow wagon before games and walking across to the football stadium afterwards for decades.  Great way to enjoy a ball game.

Are we expecting pyrotechnics like they have in Anderson County, or a lazy river?

We used to do fireworks about a decade ago. TSSAA said school personnel could not do it on school property so we had to stop that. I believe Anderson co is done by private citizens on private property adjoining the stadium. That’s what we would have to do.

    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
    • I get all that.  And I agree too.  However, if the coach is only there to coach that would give them more time to do those things. The school system and booster clubs combine and pay them.
    • 3 sides to every story….Someone getting kicked off for saying the F word then it seems maybe your star player? Probably was the last straw.
    • who cares good luck to the kid. Hopefully he finds peace at MV.
