bit of a shocker. also of note, in an article on their site, their AD stated..

”Our decision became even more clear during this Coronavirus crisis, which we know will have significant impact on future athletics budgets. This decision will better allow remaining sports to compete at a national level.”

Every athletic director that feels as if he/she can get away with dropping a sport will do so and use the virus as an excuse.  This is why it's imperative that ALL sports other than football & basketball fundraise like crazy to endow the scholarships for their sport.  Over the past ten plus years I have been preaching to anyone that will listen that the very survival of NCAA D1 Wrestling will be based on money.  If a school has 9.7 scholarships endowed and the monies cannot be used for anything but wrestling the school will not drop wrestling.  Some wrestling programs have even taken this one step further and are now working to endow the coaching salaries which is very smart.

    • I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
