You get a gold star :)

It'll be interesting to see where they are at the end of July, from a trend standpoint. Two weeks ago, WC had less than 400 active cases, and a month ago they had less than 200 active cases. ~1200 active cases would put them in the "moderate" category.

I truly wish we could get a daily count of the only two categories that matter...hospitalizations and deaths. Then, we can work off those percentages. This will give us the fairest data moving forward and maybe end all the panic and fear chaos too.

I can't speak for other counties, but in Knoxville this week, overall deaths and ICU hospitalizations attributed to COVID both doubled, and ventilator use was up over 150%. That said, we only had 5 total deaths prior to this week (now at 10), so we've definitely stayed out of harm's way for the most part.

Moved them to the spring that is. Most all reporters are saying it will not affect the decision of other schools and divisions whatsoever. The Ivy League operates on its own anyway. Ironically, they may have just scheduled themselves out of having a fall sports season at all (so cancelling could end up being exactly right)...if you believe the fear and panic that a second wave is going to get ugly in January or February. It's so premature to make such a decision too, but that's the genius Ivy League big wigs for you.

Even if it happens its gonna be much different.

I was talking to a HS coach last night and he said they are talking about if they play only allowing people who purchase season passes into the games. That way everybody can sign a waiver and made to wear a mask.

Some of your smaller conferences are starting to cancel their fall sports as well.

The Big 10 and Pac 12 are talking about playing a shorter conference only schedule and pushing the start of the season back 2-4 weeks.

NFL teams are talking about mandating masks and only allowing for fractional attendance to only season ticket holders.

All the dominoes will fall in the next two weeks because its reaching that point where a decision has to be made or else everything just falls apart. Nobody wants to be the person to make the decision so everybody is just punting the ball back and forth.

Just announced that all fall sports were cancelled and won't be rescheduled. Apparently there is a chance that football will get another shot in the spring, though. Either way, sports are a financial loser for the Ivy League, so this isn't a big shock.

Word out of the Big Ten AD meetings is that multiple schools (i.e., Rutgers, Northwestern, and 1-2 others) won't play this fall. If that's the case, the rest of the conference is expecting to play an abbreviated conference-only schedule. And if the schedules are expanded beyond that, regional MAC schools will fill in those gaps.

The NFL is wanting the players to put 35%of their salaries in escrow. They are also gonna give players an option to opt out of the 2020 season.

Tennessee Broke the Record today 2,500 positive test for Covid-19 in a single day. Not looking good

They also broke the record for most tests. I watched the briefing. What else did they say? Why are you only giving that one stat when they gave others? If you tell the whole story the percentage of sick people stayed the same. So really all that happened was they gave a record number of tests. The sky is not falling chicken little. Liberal agenda with you every time bro.

Well said!! Negative pessimistic bias nonsense! Gets old! How many of those supposed total cases are false positives, asymptomatic, very mild symptoms??!!! I’m betting a ton! Large, large majority.

    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
