POWELL FOOTBALL 2020

Recommended Posts

Panthers lost some talent from last year, but are still poised to make a deep run in 2020.  They still have talent all around the field, and probably one of the best young QB's, and WR core in all of TN.  Should make for an exciting season!  With all that said, 5A region 3 is a very tough region.  They will have there hands full with Oak Ridge, and West for sure!  What are your thoughts?

I think West and Oak Ridge at #1 and #2, Fulton at #3 and Powell at #4. Please remind me of the young WRs and the offers they have already. Thanks and best of luck to PHS.

Not sure why you took me saying one of the best young WR core in TN.  As me saying they have offers?  But since you asked......

Rising Sophomore #9 Redmond offer list:  LSU, TENNESSEE, FLORIDA, KENTUCKY, GEORGIA, TULANE, AND MORE.  Rising Sophomore #4 Foust has offer from Tulane.

They also have many more rising Sophomores and Juniors that will have offers at end of the year.  Very talented at the skill position.

Loaded region this year. OR and West will both be tough to beat, and Fulton should be a lot better. Panthers have some tremendous returning talent at RB, WR, and in the secondary, plus they've got some key guys back on both the offensive and defensive lines. To me, the success of this team all depends on Potts at QB. If he's as good as advertised and can stay healthy, Powell could be poised to make another deep playoff run.

West is the pick to win the region with OR/Powell tied for second, and Fulton #4.

C/O 2023 Powell QB Jordyn Potts dominated this weekend at the Gunslinger Challenge.  Their was some good competition there as well.  There was a Kentucky commit their, both Oak Ridge QB, Chandler Wilson from Carter, and Stone Hatmaker from AC just to name a few.  Potts did his thing.  They say he is about 6ft tall now and 170lbs.  It will be fun to watch Powell this year.

I agree with this on Potts. Probably the most hyped QB around here in some time, for him I hope the expectations are limited for a Soph. He's been with Jones for sometime so he knows the system and should be able to disperse the ball around the field. He just needs to be a game manager and not Trusley who could extend the play with his legs.

Agree.  Potts can't be Trusley.  He needs to do what he does best and not try to do what he saw Trusley do.

And it's time for those young and talented WRs to step up.  As talented as they are, they had way too many drops last year.  Time to prove those high star ratings and offers are legit.

Ya Potts, and the talented WR core have played together since 6th grade.  So the chemistry should be there for a good year.  Potts def. works well in the pocket and can go threw his progressions pretty quick.  Will be fun to watch.

As said in prior repy.  Potts and the sophomore WR core, have played together since 6th grade.  So the chemistry is there for sure!

Understand.

Chemistry is great, but hands and feet make plays, not chemistry.
