You think college players are going to play college ball in May and skip the draft to play another season of college?? HS can play in spring if they are not early enrollees to college. I just said that colleges are not for it. It is a last resort. Got a feeling HS’s will follow suit with colleges at end of July. Going to be hard to play all three sports starting on December 28 with HS basketball if HS’s followed the Virginia plan.

I was speaking only about high school being moved to spring.

I know we fight the flu and sickness every year in basketball in December, January and February. Flu tests are never accurate either. Hard to play all three sports in spring.

These Drs are trying to stop the schools opening.I would say they are against ANY kind of sport also.

Why? Look at the latest CDC stats: Age 0-24 has a total of 188 deaths. .00018 % of all Covid deaths! Schools need to start and kids need to play sports! For kids 5-14  there have been 31 deaths!

Even in that thread its stated kids aren't in a high % of danger more or less.

"For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and those with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness and even be fatal."

Exactly! We need to give people the facts. FEAR has taken over because of misinformation.

I think we can all agree that the risk of covid 19 to high school athletes is minimal. However i don't think the precautions being taken are for them. Its the spread from them to elderly or the at risk. So arguing for football because these kids are gonna be safe is futile. Need to figure a way to play football without the risk of transmission to at risk.

I don't see a season happening.  I hope I'm wrong but we are behind the eight ball.  Not only the number of cases but testing, scheduling and so forth will be an issue. I hope and pray that im wrong because I'm ready for some football.

I don’t think a single elderly or at risk person is required to be at a single high school football game this fall. This game, this season is for the kids especially the seniors. Asking thousands of healthy high school, middle school, and youth athletes to skip a year because between 0.1 -1.0% of the population might be at risk is the definition of selfish.

A high risk coach needs to evaluate his risk and consider sitting this one out. Elderly officials or PA announcers that don’t feel comfortable can return next year. Immune compromised fans - stay at home. If you’re an athlete with a high risk relative at home try to make other accommodations. If no accommodations are possible then that individual kid may decide not to play. But no way should the entire season be cancelled for a handful of special circumstances.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
    • Grandma from Heaven looking down at the field to see if that gulley washer rain this past weekend sent to make a dent on that paint that some are claiming washes off of turf. Nope looks like Krylon Tough Coat.
    • I was just talking to a guy the other night about the basketball impact.
    • Who would want that job?  Can win just no chance of winning at a high level.
