Your run of the mill surgical mask is designed to be used and discarded. Doctors go through many of those every day. The lady at the grocery store has been wearing hers since June. Cloth masks are germ magnets and offer little or no protection for anyone. If you think rebreathing virus laden sputum is a positive or healthy then we will  just disagree.

Well said! That was my point exactly.

Yeah, I discard mine daily. $30 for fifty. Maybe the lady at your grocery store has a special mark on each one of hers that enables you to discern that it is the same one she wore yesterday. Maybe she doesn’t make a lot and it’s the best she can do. Maybe some nice person will donate a box to her. Every one in the boxes I purchase look the same.

Cloth masks negate the spread of COVID from sick persons to others. Not necessarily the other way around but it couldn’t hurt. I’m glad you admitted they are germ magnets. Thanks for making my point. Cloth can then be washed in a washing machine daily.

It’s not political anymore. Democrats say wear a mask. Republicans say wear a mask. Trump says wear a mask. If anyone is going to a high school football game in Tennessee this year, your going to wear a mask.

This debate again. Fun.

Serious question. Let's say that the governor allows teams to start full pad contact practice but a school system goes online because of a high number of covid cases for 4 weeks. Do you think that school will allow football to still practice and play even though school is virtual? Would that end their season?  Has any school addressed this system?

Board of control addressed that issue and voted that they could play

I agree that the TSSAA said that.

I am asking about an individual school systems decision.  For example If Wilson county has to close and go  online because of covid for a period of time once full contact football starts will the school district allow the team to keep practicing and playing even though they are online? I have not heard any school system address this.

That's up to each system. If you're wondering about Wilson Co., call the Wilson Co. Director of Schools.

I'm done with the debates... they're over with whether you agree with the restrictions or not.

I am now 100% on board with doing whatever is necessary for the kids to salvage some form of a season from this mess. I suggest that everyone who cares do the same.

You seem pretty knowledgable about your school system. What do you think your school system would do? Just curious.

What do you think Sumner County will do if they are forced to go online? Continue with football or shut it down. Not being a pain but generally curious to peoples take on the subject.

They will play ball...no question. Virtual or in classroom, I think pretty much everyone will play.

    • Can’t believe no one posted on this and gave this team the recognition they deserve!  AAU team Tennessee went to Iowa and done what no other team had ever done and took down Iowa and the strength by holds in AAU nationals!!! Yes McCallie had a solid group of 8th graders and they showed up but we had an AAU team that wrestled their butt off and we didn’t just place in the top 5 … we won the whole dang thing! Yes the NHSCa’s were happening and that may have hurt but never once had TN ever won the national folkstyle duals national championship!!  It was a team effort and some amazing young kids!!!    We are not a fly over state any more… on a side note : we have any even better team for cadet National's team duals in Utah and have a chance to sweep both duals which would be unprecedented!!! However the funds aren’t there and USA isn’t in th position to help these kids get to utah as was AAU that got us to Iowa! Stay tuned for some oppertunities to help make a statement for Tn!!!
    • Right cause you know me, you may know my name, what I post on here, what I say on our shows, but you don’t know who I am. And if your class ring doesn’t say Trousdale County high school, quite frankly I don’t care what you say.
    • I agree but I will say I’m not hiding behind a screen name, I’m easy to find and not hard to miss lol
    • Dont get your reference, but okay. You calling someone a hypocrite is ironic given your track record.
    • Not gonna lie, it’s been hard watching my alma mater go through a tough stretch on the grid iron. But this thread is even worse. y’all sound like a bunch of jr high mean girls, popping off, while hiding behind screen names.
