2020 Adjusted Football Schedules?

Now that Governor Lee is allowing full contact sports when will the TSSAA adjusted team schedules be released? I haven't seen anything that hints at a new/adjusted 2020 schedule.

Is there a date that this will be announced/posted for us? I do know the season kicks off on 09-18-20 but other than that nothing else about adjusted team schedules for each teams 8 games. Thanks.

As of now...the season kicks off on August 21, with a few games on Aug 20, and teams play a 10-game season...we hope. Metro Nashville is not starting until after Labor Day so will either have no-contests among other Metro teams or forfeits to teams outside Metro.

Starting on 08-21-20 wasn't the date I seen posted in multiple articles. I've seen September 18th as the start date. I also read they adopted an 8 game schedule for all school.s That was Option 2 of their 4 plans to choose from.

I know I'm not crazy because I read this information from multiple articles including the one that was posted here to read from The Tennessean newspaper.

So, you wishing for a 10-game season is out the door. I jut want an accurate schedule & I don't know when the TSSAA will release that. Here at CoachT I don't believe the weekly schedules they have are updated/accurate. How would they update them if they have nothing to go by yet? Thanks

The schedules on here are correct with the exception of some games with Virginia and other out-of-state teams plus the games involving Metro Nashville.

Previously the start date was Sept 18th but the governor's executive order changed that. As of now the start date is once again August 21.

Thanks for the clarification. Didn't know Governor Lee had already given the go to change the date back to its original mark of 8-18-20.  So, are the weekly games scheduled correct too? Not just going to each teams individual schedules but by using the calendar?

Have those been adjusted back to being correct too? I rarely use the alphabetical list to check games. I normally use the weekly schedules from the calendar.  Thanks again.

There are still some games that have to be re-scheduled with, or in place of, out-of state teams. The rest are correct for the time-being, at least.

OK. Thank you sir for the information. Glad to see things have cleared up now to play football games. I was thinking that there wasn't going to be any games possibly. That still is on the table if you ask me because this coronavirus isn't letting up at all. Thanks again.

Has the TSSAA usual schedule submission date been waved since we are having these opt outs now?  I believe the yearly schedule submission for high school football is sometime in June or no later than early July.

My guess the TSSAA will have waivers on these schedule changes considering the circumstances. I'm sure they all will need to be done & submitted by 08-21-20 though. That's whether all TSSAA teams have fullfilled their schedules or not.

You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out. Not good to go to the grave with that in your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
