Does anyone know if they are going to make 4 classes with equal number of teams in each class or if they are just going to set enrollment numbers puts you in this class, regardless of how many teams may fall in one class.  Kinda like the D2 schools   14 in big class and a bunch in small class

Division 2

46 basketball teams in small division

10 in the big

SOmehow there is 3 classes in division 2 football .

Virtual students have the opportunity to play sports and participate in extracurricular activities.  Therefore they are and should be counted.  Not sure I agree that they are allowed to do so, but if they are it must be added in.

First hand example... Scotts Hill picked up around 50 kids from Chester Co. when they stated that no virtual class options would be offered. To my knowledge, not one has even inquired about participating in athletics, and unless they show up at graduation they may never set foot on campus.

The alternative would be to not count virtual students...some of which would be participating in sports. It would be hard and probably unrealistic to create a rule to accommodate all situations. The TSSAA has to rule on what to do for those who wish to participate. They can’t base decisions on individual schools that have virtual students who don’t want to participate.

Perfect example of where numbers may not be accurate this year. Think that is why this is only a two year deal although these extra students shouldn’t have any effect on Scotts Hill’s class right?? Will be interesting how the classes and regions are done. Looks like Westview, GC, UC, Scott’s Hill, Decatur County, Huntingdon should be AA around West TN. Probably more but will be interesting who goes where and plays who.

How in the world did Loretto lose 178 kids in 2 years?

2018 enrollment: 531

2020 enrollment: 353

Must be a school district thing because it’s not just them. Compare Summertown’s and Lawrence County High’s.
