The virtual students count for enrollment. Chester Co. maintained that they weren't offering an online option until zero hour, and we (Scotts Hill) picked up probably 50 students listed as enrolled that won't ever see a classroom here. Good thing for us that TSSAA went to four classes, or we'd have been in danger of being bumped up a class from it. Chester Co. may yet drop a class from it if the estimated cutoff is close.

Chester County according to the link above in this post in 2018 had 859 I think. Looks like they will be AAA with 720 and below AA. South Side, Crockett County, South Gibson will be AAA looks like. Dyersburg with 729 would be AAA if their numbers hadn’t changed. Numbers will be interesting. Looks like for sure Greenfield and Gibson County will be in different classes after this year.

I figure Huntingdon will move up.

You had 367 in 2018. 400 will get you bumped. You think your enrollment is at 400 now?? If it hadn’t you will be Single A.  Looks like we will for sure get bumped as well as Union City.

Projections I did from most recent enrollments available were:

Class A under 400
AA under 720
AAA under 1164

I'm sure there have been fluctuations in enrollment, opening/closing of charter schools, and some other new schools. Each class should have a number in the low-mid 80's.

When will the numbers come out?? Will be interesting for sure especially with a ton of virtual kids. In the meeting if I am not mistaken the numbers won’t be fudged because that is how schools get paid right??

i have heard that Westview may choose to move up a classification so that they don't lose the rivalries they have established in their district.

I hadn’t heard that. It does look like most of their district will be bumped up unless they have had some decrease in enrollment. Looks like Westview, Gibson County, Union City, Milan Scott’s Hill, Adamsville Decatur County and Memphis Business will be AA with Huntingdon, Peabody on the borderline. Looks like Meigs County, South Green, Summertown, Cannon County, Cheatam County, Jackson County Gatlinburg Pittman and Loretto will be AA as well. I may have missed some but AA for sure won’t be a cakewalk.

Don't know but I would guess we will be at 400 or better

I think Gibson County is about the same. Keep in mind if some of these kids home school away from the district some of these numbers might go down. Will be interesting to see.

I think the districts will be smaller with 4 classifications.  Adamsville, Scotts Hill, Decatur County Riverside, Camden will probably be in the same district with one or more additional teams added.  Westview, Milan, Gibson County, Union City will probably be a district as well.  You might could add Bolivar to that district too. Huntingdon and Peabody could be added to the mix it's just according to the numbers.

I think Tennessee was past due to add a class in basketball, baseball, softball.  The enrollment range in AAA was too wide for the large rural schools to compete consistently.  I'll be very interested to see the enrollment numbers and how the classes break down.

I would have loved to see football go to the same number of classes as basketball, baseball, and softball.  Either bringing football to 4 classes or taking the other sports to 5 classes.  I like the idea of having districts/regions be the same across all the major sports.  Feel like it adds to the rivalries when your competing with the same teams across the board

20th-day enrollments will be used. Some systems haven't started yet so it will be a while still.

Can you explain that and when that number will be out there?? Thanks.

The four classes will definitely be less teams in each district for sure. You will have to schedule more quality non district games to get a lot of games in for sure. I didn’t know you could play up in class. They vote that in yesterday or has that always been in effect??

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
