0-389 A

390-738 AA

739-1190 AAA

They made it to the state tournament 4xs while in AA and once while in AAA. The one time in AAA was when Robert Hubbs was a senior and Ridgeway got banned for having an ineligble player (not their fault kid lied and was enrolled in school unbeknownst to anyone but he only played garbage minutes.

works out great for Dyer County. I still feel as if they will have some good competition from the 2 A teams that are moving up to 3 A.

They may be in a district with South Gibson, Crockett, Dyersburg, Obion. There may be one more over there too.

There region is tough. South Side, North Side, Chester and Lexington will all be good next year. Chester and Lexington bring everybody back.

I think those numbers are pretty accurate. May be a little wiggle room up and down but not much. Districts would be 5 or 6 teams max I would say. I am glad the TSSAA finally addressed this. It's not perfect for everyone but it is better than what we had with 3 classes for sure. I just hope that they align the districts and regions to where you have a more competitive balance.

With only 5 in a district for example you could put Blackman, Riverdale, Siegal, Oakland and Stewarts Creek all in one with their region being Smyrna, LaVergne, Lebanon, Wilson Central, and one other close by. This would help schools who are playing 4A that are smaller help compete. I have been to a couple region games and schools like Columbia, Shelbyville, Franklin County have a hard time advancing being grouped with Murfreesboro teams. You could pair them up maybe for sub state games.

I would say it stays at 4. Basketball would then be at the same number of participants as football has and they have 6.

Problem for DC in AAA has been 2 things. Distance for district games and Shelby County.

When your district has only 5 teams and the shortest district trip is right at an hour and the longest is 2 1/2 hours, it's not ideal situation. Not so much for the competition because DC actually has held up pretty good there being on top or knocking on the door year in year out but because the natural rivalries are not there close to home to bring more local interest which can propel a program.

Having to play through Shelby County and never having an opportunity to host a regional because of location is obstacle always. You have to get into the Regional and win to get Sub State at your place. But playing schools in your Region with student enrollments up to 144% larger than yours is tough. I do think DC held its own but playing the Bartletts, Arlingtons, Houstons and all the rest aint easy. 

DC is going to come in at around 1150 on enrollment so lets see where the cut off is and what a district will look like.

Absolutely right. Shelby isnt going anywhere though. We going to be stuck with them and still have to deal with all the grief they bring.
