Camping is huge in the area. This may be late, I think you said earlier you we're coming our to look around. That may have already happened by now but the area is filled with camping opportunities. Any of the TVA lakes such as Norris, Douglas, Cherokee, Loudon, Melton Hill and Watts bar offer numerous places. Each one is different in its own right and offers something unique. Norris is an absolutely fabulous lake and my favorite but Douglas and Cherokee offer a lot of beautiful scenery too. Norris is just a deep limestone lake with clean (not muddy) water but none are bad. Campgrounds are numerous on each one. I like to load up the pontoon boat and head to an island for a week myself. That's just some of it, much more is available in the GSMNP if mountains are your thing.

If you already did visit, how did it go?
