Monterey whipped up on Harriman last night, which I think typically is a decent team . I believe this region comes down to Monterey and GVILLE in week 10. I believe that game is in Monterey as well.

We were able to broadcast the MHS vs Harriman game. Monterey has only 3 starting seniors and is a very young team. They have a huge junior and sophomore class and we all know that most of the time a young team is on an emotional roller coaster. They had an overall good game against Harriman but there were times where their youth came to the surface. If they mature like we at Monterey hope they do, both Clay & Gordy will be good games. We'll have to see what happens throughout the rest of the year.

I don't see Monterey competing with Clay or Gordonsville this year. Both Clay and Gordonsville have loads more experience than the players for Monterey.

Copper Basin's game against Whitwell has been COVIDed so I have myself a dilemma. I can go to Huntland and see the Pirates play, or I can make the slightly longer trek to Gordy to see a good game.

I think Gordonsville is a Top 5 team this year, so I expect a win over Clay who I would place between 10-15.

I know the Pirates are rolling, but Gordy is so much more interesting. I have a lot to think about.

Gordy and Clay is the better game.  Not only that I believe the winner of this game will host yall in the 2nd round if the season can get that far.  Just my thoughts.

Go to the Gordonsville game and give us a scouting report if you like.

Gordon's/Clay County is by far the better game. It should be a dandy.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
