INJURED ROCKET - #11 McClendon

Wanted to ask Coach T collectively, to pray for #11 Micah McClendon of Forrest, who was injured last night in the Moore Co game.

Injury was related to the spine. Very serious. His surgery took hours, and is apparently finished. Not much is known at this time.

We go at it here. We are all competitive.  But this is a kid's health and future. The McClendon's, collectively, are responsible for much good in Chapel Hill.

Our kids are everything to us. Our own kids, as well as the kids in our communities.

Some might criticize, "You live vicariously thru your kids..." I disagree. We love our kids, so we push them to be  their best. We want them to be better than us. We want them to avoid the mistakes we made. Athletics, and especially football, teaches our young men how to win, how to push themselves, and how to be part of something bigger than themselves.  How to dig deeper than they thought they could. How to bounce back from defeat, and how to get better every day, even in victory.

A little about the McClendon family (my best effort, I don't guarantee 100% accuracy):

- Tyler was a state wrestling champ 2013
- Zach was a runner up 2A Mr Football finalist in 2014
- Nick was a state wrestling champ 2019, 2020, played on two Region champ Rockets teams (2016, 2019), and was 2A Mr Football finalist in 2019

All 4 brothers have played football since youth league. Lots of great games, great wins, a few losses along the way, but all 4 boys very very special athletes.

Micah is a sophomore, and some said he might be the most talented of them all. Lord God, please give him a chance to show us all that.

Please. Take a moment today. Let's give this young man's injury to our Creator, and Savior, for healing.

Thank You,

The General
