Old Pirate says Ifin The Captain does not walk away or a new Captain emerges, the Pirates need to find another team to fill a rivalry spot. Jasper should be dropped, that spot should be filled by Trousdale, Tyner, Signal Mtn, Bledsoe or a team from Alabama. Not NJ

If anything ever changed as far as alignment so that we wouldn't meet until at least the semis, I would love to play SP in the regular season.

Trousdale is likely to be in our region next year, so we would be in the same boat.

I like the fact that we have Coalfield and Fayetteville in the regular season.

North Jackwagon started like Jasper ended.  Stevenson welched on the last game in the series before the merger and then played drama queen when North Jackwagon started up.  In fact they went through SP on the way to play Jasper and a few teams up the valley.  The dropped Jasper like a hot potato when K.C. and the Sunshine Band was spanking them every year.

That is very true.  I didn't necessarily disagree was just curious.    I know a lot of people want to see it happen and could potentially bring a LARGE crowd every year but sometimes past actions are hard to forget

Good job comparing NJ & Jasper. Jasper stopped the rivalry, cost SP $25-30k and coward out on playing. Old Pirate would bet his best jock Jasper would have played if it had been a playoff feud or a region game or else a game with School for the blind! YepReconSo

I bet the kids still want to play the Jasper game.  Aint that what it's about not us has beens jawing on a website. I for one think it would be a shame to end the rivalry.

Old Pirate says surely the youngon’s like playing the game. But it ain’t the youngon’s bad acting that has caused all the trouble. It is the cowardly has beens the beat on ambulances when a player is Sick & taken off the field, shout racist vulgarity at opposing players when carried off the field,  administration members that actively try to get star opposition players kicked out of school, illegally enter opposing field houses, steal opposing play books, paint their field houses with vulgar graffiti and blame the opposition, knowingly falsely accuse opposing students, refuse to cowardly make up opposing home games that cost the opposition 10’s of thousands of dollars, then find humor in it, They’s a HEEP more better opponents that can be scheduled! BTW, Jasper is the program that is guilty of all the above, plus cowardly ending the second longest continuous rivalry in state’s history. The Chattanooga area’s most watched feud has ended, time to move on. Bring on Trousdale, Tyner, Meigs, Redbank, Signal Mtn, Soddy Daisy, Bledsoe, Boyd, North Sand Mtn, Scottsboro or a Good Circle Fly School! IT WAS SHAME TO END THE RIVALRY in some regards, but SP will be better off & not have to deal with the drama queens round the jailhouse. GO PIRATES, sail on!
