For Dobyns Bennett to get that dream rematch with McMinn in the playoffs, does that mean McMinn would have to beat Maryville?      Or is there another way?

There is still a lot to be decided, but if McMinn goes 9-1 (with a loss to Maryville) and DB wins Region 1, they could square off in the 2nd round. But if McMinn loses to Maryville and Bradley, they'd have to go through Maryville to see DB in the quarterfinals.

If Farragut wins Region 1, DB and McMinn could meet in the first round, if McMinn loses to Maryville and Bradley.

I think your first scenario sounds likely, I see DB going 9-1 and being in 1st place in R1.

    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.

    • Maybe some of the historians can get on here and help me out, but has anybody from Tennessee ever had as much success in an international style as Boykin? The only other Tennessee native I can remember competing for world team spots is the older Boykin in freestyle and he wasn't nearly as close as Nick has been to making world teams.
