North Greene takes down South last night ... was up over 20 until the coach subbed at the end.... the athletic kid looks to be turning the corner and the German is probably the 2nd best player in that league behind Meredith

I agree, if they both continue to play like that they are going to be TOUGH to beat. It is about time the athletic kid played to his potential. Took 4 years lol

I'll take Hampton, they have some very good underclassmen, they should be fun to watch, the sophomore and freshman classes made the trip to state in Jr high,i know that was Jr high but both classes have some very talented players

I definitely think they will be at the top once they get their legs under them. Meredith had 49 against TN High the other night and UH won. The next leading scorer had like 8. It is going to be Hampton, NG, UH for the title in my opinion. Hampton definitely has the toughest place to play. Hope the season can continue on without a whole lot of interruptions...The tssaa did vote that the highest seed will host the District and Regional Tournament, so that is something to keep an eye on as well.

Providence...the up and coming Grace Christian of basketball. Hear they are very vocal in the stands now...hate I missed the game today

Have now seen all teams in district one play ... would honestly be surprised if anyone plays North Greene to within 10 ... This may be the best team the young coach has had

We played DB within 10 last night even with sluggish starts in each qtr...But if we don't improve in a few aspects of the game, NG will be highly favored in our meetings

I've seen NG boys play a few games this year against Providence and SG and David Crockett. I'm impressed by them, they play 7 kids usually. The German kid is very good at finishing down low. I think Hamptons guards as a group have more speed and fire power . It would be a fun game for sure and I'm thinking those are the top teams in district.

From what I've seen, we need to be more aggressive on the glass and on D.....Seem hesitant to go for the steals too. We are a lot better when everyone is playing wide open and loose. I expect it to be hard to win at NG and hard for them at Hampton.

Depth could be an issue for NG .. which is a strength of Hampton always .. but the German has changed the whole mentality of NG they aren’t soft which I thought was the case in years passed .. if it’s gets in the paint it’s scored

Yes, he's tuff...That's where disciplined, aggressive body play becomes critical. If we give the paint away, we'll be in trouble

May take back what I said about NG got blown out by Providence.. they were coming off a quarantine and looked like it ..looked disinterested...take the German away and they are average at best .. looks like Hampton has it rolling .. could cloudland be a dark horse ?

We played Providence Saturday at home, with no fans and won without our seniors. We play them again tonight. Interested to see how that goes.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
