Yep also agree, that was just round 2. Rounds 3 and 4 are the true rounds but this was big for Hamptons confidence which in basketball and kids means a lot. Also losing so many of these types of games early has to be helpful in finding a way at this point of the season. Some might say our luck will run out but anyway it was a great high school game to watch tonight.

I went to etsu for a year,  know this is a basketball thread has university ever considered  single a football or playing an independent schedule they'd have a top tier stadium that's for sure!

Have wondered that myself. As many kids as they get from Science Hill, they could have a pretty good team. Facilities are top notch and would definitely be an attractive situation.

You would think UH would have alot of built in advantages in all sports but they struggle in a few sports to even be competitive. If they had a solid girls basketball program I would seriously consider putting mine in there.

Agreed, they are typically strong in baseball, softball, soccer, and boys basketball. Their girls team is one of the worst I have ever seen. Strange how that is

I forgot about girls cross country there too. They have a tremendous program and went state runner up in '18 and '19 of I'm not mistaken. But yes girls basketball is way down

They're even worse with  their jr high.  My daughter's youth club team from back when they were in 5th grade would have beaten them.  That's the worst jr high team I've ever seen.  Those girls must've never played til 7th grade.

    • Not sure how I would put it as recruiting perhaps kids trying to better their career by going to a head coach and coaching staff with connections all over college football that gets them the opportunity to go play college football and be coached by a coach with a pretty good track record.
    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
