Well, I’m over COVID.  We all know that if CJP gets fired at UT in the next year or so, then is picked up anywhere else away from Knoxville, that CDP will leave his Jasper job to move within a couple hours of his son.  This might come soon the way folks are talking.  Are they prepping an assistant at this moment to take over, or will they be trying to hire CVG away from the ‘Burg??

CDP still lives in Alabama makes the hour and half trip every day. He just got two more years and he can retire.

Reason I’m saying this is because what Boldin did before he left. They were buying in

I’m still saying. They were much improved the year before Boldin took over in 2016 as well. He won in 2017-2018 with the most talented class in the history of the school. Good job, but pump the brakes a little is all I’m saying.

you think its drug use Salem? like when they can drive they start smoking and drinking and lose their athletic edge?

Coaches or players? lol

Culture of the program is the biggest problem. They've never had football success and, Parents of decent athletes with the ability to leave leave. Building a winning program is much harder than maintaining one. The right coach with the talent they had in 2017-19 could've turned the program around. Now the younger grades don't seem to have the talent coming up as in year's past and they move up to 3A. Future is not bright.

Just checking the t$$aa website at available positions and was surprised at how few coaching jobs came up.  The last two years there were probably 50 head jobs up on those boards.  I think they only had 4 or 5 head openings showing.

Just my opinion but I think job openings will be low this year. Lots of job insecurity with COVID.

I agree, I’ve said it all year you can’t really get rid of a coach unless the program has just not been getting results. Coaches need a spring and scrimmages to get the team going and if there is new faces in key spots then it could take those kids all year to get going with out a full summer into the first game

    • Began as a discussion, and evolved into a trainwreck...   Don't know how many of the TC "old guard" are left, but I feel for y'all.   Everybody has to get the last word... no matter the cost and sometimes the cost is high.
    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
    • Danny Wilson is the only one that come's to mind but I don't know where he is at now.
    • I am pro coach all day long but there are some knucklehead hires for sure.
