It's called Special School Districts. All of Carroll and Gibson County  high schools have this distinction with the exception of Gibson County HS which is also exclusive through elimination. Milan, Trenton, South Gibson, Humboldt, Huntingdon, ect... all are "stand alone" in that aspect. Other HS communities of similar size (Bradford, Clarksburg) within these counties offer other sports but not football, due to funding and enrollment. I hope that's not the case with the War Eagles...they usually field a tough and well prepared team, but losing Coach Wolfe will shake the foundation of the program.

With all the teaching and administrative positions open at West Carroll aside from coaching it is clear this is more than just about football.

West Carroll is not affiliated with a large school system, they are "self contained" with their own BOE, Director of Schools, faculty, and support staff...it could be that they just can't fund the program to meet the standards of the staff. I know that the HC had interviewed for other positions before this transpired, so he may have taken one elsewhere and triggered his assistants to take this action. It would be hard to convince me that any wrongdoing has anything to do with this, as Wolfe is a class guy and arrow straight. @WarEagleCartman would be the authority on the subject.

It's a dumpster fire. Won't go into deep details for now but essentially 2 board members have made it their mission to for lack of a better term destroy everything we have built. It started with dexter and now the trickle down takes place. It's not just athletics. We're losing upwards of 30 faculty members. Some people would rather hinder progress than facilitate it. It's personal now, guys.

Sorry to hear that...I have tons of respect for what the school and the community that has supported it have stood for. People sometimes don't understand the implications of their petty actions, or the small amount of "wrong" that it takes to undo years worth of "right" for everyone.

Seems very likely that Bledsoe county coach is the leading contender to head to My Indians!  We have a ton to offer including the top facilities around. Plus, Tabor can see there’s nothing coming down the pike from middle school.it’s a easy drive. More money. Win win for Tabor.

True, but from a coaches perspective if say you were applying for the brentwood job and you have the year tabor has at Bledsoe, but the guy at Sequatchie has 3 straight 12-1 seasons or close to it who would you hire, the 11-1 at Bledsoe for 1 year or a guy that wins games besides Alcoa, Sequatchie would both look better and probably be a better situation to move up in the coaching ranks. JMO
