There ain't no we, in this...I am not a Betsy fan but you have to give them credit, they can score at will on most opponents.. You must have missed the post where I said Greeneville would be a legit state title contender 12 months from now....

Trust me I have given Betsy Credit and for someone that is a Betsy Rival and not a fan I think they know I have.  Betsy has given Greeneville Credit for setting a bar and putting some life back into NE TN football over the past Decade.  Betsy can score and it's going to take a good game plan like Greeneville had to slow them down because you're not going to totally stop them.  Haywood needs to keep Rollins in the Pocket and limit Hughes's Touches. (Rather that be bracketing him or having a man spying him if he is in the back field).  Greeneville gave a good blue print of how to slow it down but seeing it and doing it are two different things. (I don't know anyone who has held Rollins to under 50% passing, no passing Td's, and 1 yard a carry or Hughes too 2 catches and 21 yards over the past two years besides the gameplay Greeneville had in round 3)

I didn't miss it at all but you said a 3peat first and then tried to give Greeneville Credit.  Heck by the end of the season Greeneville was a legit state title contender this year and with 9 returning starters on O and 10 returning starters on D anyone who wouldn't say they are doesn't know football

    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
