Any thoughts from you guys in the know about who will replace Dyer?

That's one thing that's glaring to me about our success since 2013-14...we've had quite a bit of turnover in coaching. On one hand, it's nice to see coaches moving up and onward, but on the other hand it would be nice to have more stability(make no mistake, I applaud those coaches and don't blame them for taking their opportunity) . The list goes on for coaches that have used TC as a springboard for self promotion...that's just a fact of life for succesful 1A and 2A programs especially(btw I think that's THE number one reason for Peabody's success..holding on to top notch coaching..that alone draws talent, and is pretty darn nice to have for in-game adjustments and program management).

Just putting down some thoughts I had..would love to hear other's thoughts.

Hard to hold on to assistant coaches when the pay is so low in TC, and hard to attract coaches in a town that genuinely hates outsiders.

Where is @TCRadio? I bet he has some answers for us!

The goal for every assistant coach is to move up to an HC.  It is not good for stability but, I'm fine with just means he was a the very good assistant that should have had a head coaching job. The upside is that this will attract very good assistants that will use TC to get an HC job. There is a very good assistant at Oakland that wants to be back at TC.

I hate to say this but I hope the offense changes to fit the personal this offseason. TC shouldn't be in a wing t next year with a junior QB that has a cannon for an arm if he wins the starting soot at QB. You can run a wing t from a spread and also be a threat with a passing game so that opposing defenses can't put 10 in the box.

Good morning high school football fans. I'm a old school yellow jacket from 10x state champ Trousdale Co. Word is out on the town that another yellow jacket could be on his way back home to be back on the TC coaching staff. Coach Eric Vetetoe who has been on the Oakland Patriots coaching staff and coached under coach Creasy I think 7 year total at TC and Oakland. He has been apart of multiple state championship teams and is great at getting the most out of his players.

Coach Vetetoe can handle baseball as well. He was the catcher on Cumberland NAIA national championship team and head ball coach at TC and Lebanon high schools.

Best of luck coach and hope to see you back in purple and gold soon

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
