SSHawks12
While I'm sure we all think Alcoa will be there representing the East who do you guys think may have a real shot at beating them? With some very good teams moving up to 4a (Milan, Pearl, South Gibson) I would think Covington will probably be the favorite in the West to make it in 2021 but anything could happen.
BCsportsfan
Covington is a great program and would be the front runner from the west.

I would agree, Covington would have to be the betting man's favorite at this point. Not clue of what they have coming back, I know they are losing a great back in Hayes.
Trollin
Covington is for sure the top prospect but I also believe Waverly should be in this discussion. They are moving up from 2A to 3A and return most starters. With Pearl Cohn/Milan/Westview gone from 3A I see Waverly reaching the Semi Finals again in 2021against Covington

Swarm
Fairview hasn't been able to get through region 5 in order to make the semis yet. I think Waverly has a good chance to though for the next couple of years with the talent they have returning. Especially with PC moving back up. I still wouldn't sleep on Metro if I were Waverly though. All those R5 teams will have the manpower to match up and play with you and are battle tested come November. They may not have a good record but they've been playing Lipscomb, CPA, etc and are a 4-6 2 seed lol.
ChineseFlu
Everybody in west playing for silver and everybody in east playing to get to Alcoa. It is sad, but this is the most boring class in the state. 1

The race to get your head kicked in by Alcoa is never ending it seems. It really is kind of defeating to start your season that way. I have now seen 3 different teams come out of the west that were clearly the best teams go to Cookeville and get smoked by Alcoa. They are a machine, hopefully a team can rise up to do the impossible and knock them of at some point.

Look at the teams Covington Milan and Pearl Cohn as has the past 3-4 years and they couldn’t do it. I just don’t see it happening. It would take a very very special team and a ton of luck to take down Alcoa.
Tigersandcats
3A is just playing for silver. Plain and simple!

They could probably challenge for the championship in 6A
Indian
Their explanation (the fans on here) is that they play some of those type teams in the regular season so that's proving enough.
