Look at it this way, even with the o line problems they still beat a 2A Semifinal team by 8 and a 1A Semifinal team by 40.

True, we play them this upcoming year and Huntingdon so we will know more of which of them two is the better. Idk what UC brings back, but if WV can make the right moves and give Simpson time they will be my pick to represent the west. Huntingdon will be better so it’s too early to really tell

Agreed about the offensive line. However, with Jarod Neal getting a full offseason with the team, that is probably not going to have as much Covid restrictions (hopefully with this vaccine), I do expect this team to make a pretty big step in 2A. Remember, they had SGC to the ropes in the playoffs.

They did in fact have westview on the ropes in the playoffs. However you have to dig a little deeper to get the full story. SG was without 6 starters due to Covid and contact tracing. Westview could have been down some personnel as well but I don’t know about any. Nevertheless I do agree they will make some noise in 2A next year.

If I’m his dad he would have transferred long ago.

Because being able to choose which one of the 10 top football programs in the country he wants to play at just isn't good enough? I bet his options would really open up if he played for the coveted gold ball at Alcoa or Trenton. Should they just ship him off to IMG or some other place and watch his games on TV and miss out on actually getting to see him grow up? It may be hard to get community support for UTM football if the coach sent his kid to another school around Martin. Maybe the parents quit their jobs and uproot the rest of the family for high school football trophies?

How many times has he been sacked over the last couple years ?  What game footage do the scouts have to look at besides him running for his life ?  I guess my main concern would be him getting hurt. You can’t play college ball if your knee is blowed out or shoulder from getting hammered every time you touch the ball.

    • I used to think like that many many moons ago.  I wondered the same questions but learned that it is just not that easy.  Hiring assistant coaches can be complicated at times.  It takes a few years for HC’s to get who they feel is right for their system.  Couple that with good assistant coaches getting better jobs at times and leaving your program. More to it than some think.  I think you have a good coach up there and time will tell that story.
    • okay.  Like i said initially, it's question we have to ask, but we sure don't know the answer yet.
    • You’re right, I shouldn’t jump the gun on it. Hopefully it isn’t related to the sports programs, because it’ll end up affecting a lot of innocent kids who just enjoy playing sports.
    • I totally agree but just don’t want to see people jumping the gun by insinuating it was for athletic reasons. Nobody knows at the moment except for those involved in the incident itself and those investigating.
    • Bruh, That portion of the post was simply a product of my imagination. Try to keep up.  The real purpose of the post was to rub salt in this fresh wound following FF’s departure to BGA.
