Who else is confused..... Gov. Lee just said that for the next month he wants to limit indoor gatherings to 10 people, but then said that HS sports should continue.
Uhhhh..... there are 10 guys on the basketball court, so that means no refs, no coaches, no extra players, no fans?
And I don't want this to become a political thread, just wondering what that means to HS basketball.

I don't know how you can keep politics out of this but I will try.

It could mean high school basketball will have to take a month long break, give the vaccines a brief time period to help get past the Thanksgiving spike and probable Christmas / New Years spike.

Then things go back to a weird normalcy and people pull together to get this season to the finish line.

Too bad I don't believe a thing I just wrote but it is what I want for Christmas.

It may not be a popular thought but I think the games should be played if the teams have enough players to play.  I think limited seating reserved only for home fans.  No visiting fans to keep a limit of fans who for the majority of the people in the building are parents and students of the home school.  It’s a crazy idea but I think you can limit the non-controlled contact.

Blazer it's nearly impossible to mention anything about Covid and it not have political views expressed. I will try to keep my GOP out of it ,ha.I seen part of it when switching channels and read part of it. I guess we will see on sports , schools ,church and everything else going forward and what exactly this means.I just don't see a lot of big families around the state caring what is said about limited  Christmas gatherings and having to make decisions like who is going to be left out . I think most of us are smart enough to weigh the risk and do the right thing. Especially when it comes to older folks or those that can't afford to get Covid, a cold, the flu, or anything .

If you don't let visiting parents in, You will be taking a bunch of kids home. Only way a lot of schools do it. Throwing them all on a bus is not exactly "covid friendly".

I get that.  I realize that my perspective is from the teams I see Gallatin play where every team arrives on buses.  I’m actually glad they (TSSSAA) found a way to have the games and get the parents into the games.  As a fan whose daughter just graduated this spring, I am going to miss going to the games.  But I get it and I’m happy that the kids will have a chance to play and finish the season this year.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
