I’m thinking worst. Especially if what I’m hearing about a few players transferring is true.  I have heard we might lose 4-5 players to Whitwell, Bledsoe, Marion or maybe even Meigs.. This was also before the Pruitt firing so that probably takes Marion out of the running since Pruitt won’t be around long term. No telling.

the lack of loyalty today of kids (and parents I guess) to "their" school amazes me

What is Sequatchie doing to make kids want to stay??  Say what you want but it is a coaches job to make his program attractive to kids and for the program to benefit the players somehow.  That is not happening at Sequatchie.  Someone said it earlier in the post that the coach was looking to retire after one more year? I dont know if that is true but it seems like he is running his program like he is a lame duck coach.  I figure a tradition rich program would want better than that.

You would drive like  50 miles there and back. Anyone that does that is just crazy especially  for high school I would understand  if it was a kid from rhea ,Hamilton, or mcminn county.  But I agree with whoever posted nobody has loyalty  to their schools. It's sad to  see. I went where I was zoned to and that was that. No way my parents would have paid tuition  for me to go  a school that offers the same thing  educationally.

Lots do it. It’s not like the old days. Kids are more serious about it nowadays. Some schools are serious about having a good program and winning and some are not. Kids are taught to do their best. So why should kids settle for less or someplace that’s not doing their best? Pretty fair if you ask me and a new way of high school sports.

I hate to see this program fall off like it has. We have the best fans and facilities in the Valley. When I played there, we called ourselves SquatchU because everyone knew when you strapped on the pads against us you were going to be hurting by 10 that night.
Time to get back to some old school football. Heard the boys don’t even smoke cigarettes anymore after practice, no wonder they can’t win.

I would worry about hiring anyone  from Cumberland County not a very successful football school never understood used to have some big ole boys  back in the day.

You are correct. Cumberland is a graveyard for football.  They have had some good players but I think their politics are about as bad as Bledsoe. They like some basketball though.Hopefully we can grab a up and coming coach and turn this train wreck around.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
